Ah. Yeah. I listened to that. Raw black metal. Not a huge bm fan, particulatrly of raw. It was decent though. Apparently they aren't old Zao fans as they seem to think their idea to use Dante was original.

Recent Barren Cross live. Just short snippets, but they sound right as ever and Mike Lee's voice still sounds great.

I'd dig more into his beliefs. This guy has beliefs that have turned off most who would otherwise support him. You know if you turn Christian metal heads off you must be whack.

a woman i know from Christian metal groups on facebook shared this music with me; i don't know a lot about him. i like the music - but you're right; we ought to understand what he believes and
poking around his facebook, seems like he may be into the Hebrew roots thing; or maybe not. he's passionate about Israel and hoping to go there for missionary work.
here's an interview i found:

MALAKH Interview with "Heaven's Banger Zine (Brazil)" - English Sub
†Heaven's Banger Zine -
Tell us about the band. And also on the ideological and sound goals MALAKH.

†Dan -
We are a band to play unblackmetal in South Korea and born in 2015.
We Sings about Satan's defeat and apocalyptic look of the message of God's victory. Accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and then turned unblackemtal band was the first album was released digitally.
The public expected in mid-February. You can think of a mini-album.

†Heaven's Banger Zine -
About the name, what is the meaning? In english, we found no real meaning.

†Dan -
Name of the band is ancient Hebrew and means of angels or messengers of God. Jews do not recognize Jesus Christ, I respect the history of the Jews, and to cooperate with them. It is also a holy place in Jerusalem, Israel.
In that sense, gave birth to the band name in Hebrew.

†Heaven's Banger Zine -
Tell us about the album Abnormal Killer. Sonically the band is satisfied with the work? What can people expect it?

†Dan -
The first album are the songs that each personality.
Powerful and fast typical black metal songs were mostly and thrashmetal sound is represented effectively.
We do not always use the most digital devices to represent the analog sound.
The first full-length album is scheduled to be released as a CD will also include a new song will produce a variety of beautiful and lyrical atmosphere with a powerful sound.
And because of we are a band from the East, would represent emotion of oriental music.

†Heaven's Banger Zine -
On the lyrical content of the album, which is the concept involving the letters contained in "Abnormal Killer"?

†Dan -
Modern human society, as is prophesied in the Bible.
Crimes against humanity have occurred and people were starting to deny God and exclusive moral and ethical ones. Black Metal music is satanic music.
Lyrics of black metal, teach people to crime and violence and hedonism and decadence. We trashed the break Satan's musical landscape and God's divine revelation look of the message was expressed in Abnormal Killer album.
We will declare defeat Satan's diabolical killing a message.

†Heaven's Banger Zine -
We are very curious to know about the scene there in South Korea There is a christian metal scene there in your country? What about the scene of satanic black metal? It is a very radical scene and closed?

†Dan -
In Korea, it is MALAKH Unblackmetal band other than nil.
There are many churches in South Korea and the missionaries in many countries, ranking second in the world.
However, there are many conservative Christians, most of them think it strange for a Christian blackmetal band.
Until recently, we had also played a Pagan blackmetal. Black metal band in Korea is not a team with a radical idea at all. However, there are many contradictory team to play black metal in view of the absence of even satanism.
Black metal band in Korea there is no concept what is bad and what is good for good and evil. They are just like a spoiled child.

†Heaven's Banger Zine -
As a band UnBlack Metal, you had problems with radical satanic black metal members?

†Dan -
Before I turned to Unblack Metal,I played the song Pagan backmetal the history of Korea. They do not tell me about the abuse.
When I say that God is Creator and Lord, Jesus Christ is the true king of the world, Officials to play black metal gave respect my opinion. Of course, they also laugh at, but I do not care.
I was fascinated with pagan philosophy and even Satanism.
But there was always a part of the mind empty. Darkness and vanity are confusing my head was that what has been able to free my soul.
I started reading the Bible had met the Lord Jesus Christ and God the Creator.
My soul was so thrilled to have found true freedom ever since.
I have a favorite Bible verse is 'Isaiah 41:10'.

†Heaven's Banger Zine -
Tell us about the Church in Korea. You have spiritual support of the Korean church in general? The churches in their country are divided about supporting or not UnBlack Metal bands?

†Dan -
Heavy metal music is non-popular in South Korea, so there is no support for the
Christian blackmetal band yet.
In the Christian newspaper covering my band long ago. they were very interested about MALAKH and they covering a unblack metal entitled shed light in the darkness.
I am a Christian Baptist affiliation of Malcom C Fanwick, knew from childhood.

†Heaven's Banger Zine -
We were interviewing the Holy Blood band, and the leader Fedor Buzilevich, said that his country, Ukraine is facing serious problems with the war against militants in Russia. We know that South Korea live an intense concern with the follies of the North Korean dictator. This gets to be a real concern for you and for the Church in South Korea?

†Dan -
God Bless to Holy Blood bands of Ukraine!
South Korea is also always experience the North Korean threat as well.
North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un is the axis of evil.
North Korea's people are to live like a puppet body deprived of life and liberty.
Pastor of the Church in Korea are risking their lives to missionary activity and has to escape North Korean peoples from North Korea.
Album of 'Abnormal Killer' in MALAKH has criticized the North Korean regime andthe details for the salvation and liberation of North Koreans life.
God's mercy, hope arrives in the North!

†Heaven's Banger Zine -
Do you have friends or relatives who are imprisoned in North Korea?

†Dan -
Have a friend who escaped from North Korea. They told the North's reality to me. North Korea's national work are always executed minor fault. And the lack of food many people starving.
Destroy the North Korean regime and must rescue the people.

†Heaven's Banger Zine -
There is much expecativa for a brief and first live performance of you?

†Dan -
Yes ofcourse!
South Korea has a hard to find a member but Even one-man band will be performing. I like very much to play in live.

†Heaven's Banger Zine -
Inside the Church you are a member, Batista Malcolm C. Fanwick. You have full support? Or members are divided on the art of christian extreme metal?

†Dan -
Popular in Korea, because the reasons they were not like heavy metal music.
South Korea's Christians are not like heavy metal music is loud reason.
They are caught in demonic spirits message of black metal and the fact that many oblivion.
I practice the role of inducing them to God's side as Unblack metal music.
I listened to the music of bands like Horde or Ancestor also began to read the Bible again and even left the church and started again.
I think it's frozen Black Metal with its own mission this.

†Heaven's Banger Zine -
What is the argument that you normally use to justify the fact that christians play black metal or extremely brutal music with christian lyrics?

†Dan -
I understand God's teachings in the Bible.
I also grew up listening to black metal and death metal but Bad because people get affected by destructive and dark lyrics of Black Metal.
Many of the Nordic black metal band should focus on lyrics praising Satan and to glorify evil.
I think if you have good evil is present to law and music, too.
If there praising the evil Black Metal, the praise of Unblack metal is present in the goodness of the providence of God.
Defeat of Satan! God Bless!

†Heaven's Banger Zine -
What do you know about the metal scene in Brazil? Both Christian and secular?

†Dan -
I know the great 'White Throne' of Ublack metal warriors in Brazil!
Whitethrone to the blessings of God!
They are also high in mature musically very heavy, also high in mature musically very heavy. Jesus Christ Glorified!
And I have also experienced a Brazilian jiu-jitsu training. BJJ is Very hard and practical martial arts.
Before he turned to Unblack Metal,i released slit album with a Brazilian black metal band and 'Sepultura' was my childhood hero.

†Heaven's Banger Zine -
Thank you for this interview. The final considerations are yours. God bless!

†Dan -
Thanks for your interest to MALAKH and an interview with the 'Heaven's Banger' is a very great honor.
With you to the mercy of God's glory and jesus!

this is also an interesting post he made back in June -- he doesn't intend to keep playing black metal.

"Important Warnning"
MALAKH's project is just freedom God has allowed me.
This is not a sacred missionary activity.
I am an artist and im a christian, and God knows me.
For that reason, God allows MALAKH. God just allows my life style.
True mission should be reverent and must be clean.
Not blackmetal or cultures.
It should not be noisy and must should not be embellished with dirty ones.
Music is just music. Mission is just one mission.
For example, unblack metal music is the same as the e-cigarette.
Its like the alternative items for people who quit smoking.
So please understand MALAKH's project.
I will go to the day that a missionary in Israel.
After that, MALAKH do not play black metal anymore.
To enter the kingdom of God, You will be right to abandon black metal musics or cultures.
Remember.

-DAN

Did anyone here mention that Immortal Souls had a new release this year?

If you didn't know, now you do.

I finally picked up my copy of Requiem for the art of Death and it was fantastic - I'm not waiting a year to pick up Wintermetal (it should be on my doorstep by Friday).

I actually heard worse stuff than that about Malakh. Tried to find it but no luck.

Pretty sure i posted Immortal Souls, that video even, when it was released. But I've never been a big fan. Requiem was pretty good, but even that I didn't listen to much.

Their albums do have a tendency of sounding similar to one another. I like their style though so I guess that's not a bad thing.

I do like IS... a lot. I need to do something about off site media back up in the case of a fire. My copy of Once upon a Time in the North is irreplaceable now. Not even available at crazy prices on Amazon.

I know this is going to sound strange coming from me since I enjoy metalcore, but I picked up Becoming the Archetype's I Am and I don't like the new direction (or vocalist). If it were any other band I might enjoy it, but they gave us this wonderful album. The cover art and this track (along with How great Thou Art) swayed me from saying that Celestial Completion was my favorite. Celestial Completion had some cool tracks though.

Dichotomy was awesome. I was at a release party for Celestial. Even got a t shirt. It was a horrible show. Was right around their member change, so many didn't know. Then the vocalist had to call out so the drummer was the only actual member. Rest of the band were new or fill ins.
The venue was small. Crowd smaller. All the opening bands were local metalcore nobodies. 2 of the bands had half the and members.
But it was my first show in years and did it during the timeframe I was on dialysis.

I Might have a digital copy of the IS album. Send me a remind and the album name and I'll check. If I do I can upload it for you. MP3. Probably not a very high format but it's something.... If I have it.

Oh no I'm lucky I still have once upon a time in the north in it's orignal packaging. The trouble is if anything ever happened to the house (like a fire) the paper case (I hate those) and both digital media back ups would be lost.

I'm actually to a point where all of the CD's I own are taking up an inconvenient amount of space. I haven't decided how to rectify that situation yet, but it's not a bad problem to have per se.

I didn't think much of I AM, when I first listened but then it seriously grew on me.

I suspect you may be right. My first thought was it just sounded so very different. They reminded me of The Devil Wears Prada somehow - but I liked The Devil Wears Prada. Come to think of it I still like them too, but I've always hoped they might do something a bit more like they did when they released With roots above and Branches below.

Down with the sickness? I remember some of their lyrics being about an abuse mother and him raging about it..but that was some years ago now.

I'm looking for some decent metal, do you think i can find any?
