Elgibbor has a new album, 'Revenger of Blood' released in a small batch of only 50 CD's and distributed through Eternal Records in Mexico. to order one, you can track Eternal Records down on facebook, PM Sergio, and work out with him to have it shipped.

i got this album a bit more than a week ago (shipping from Mexico took a long time) and have been blasting it ever since, every time i'm in my car. every track is scripture set to music -- from Ephesians to Isaiah, to 1 Corinthians, to Revelation. it is a pulsing, pounding wall of frenetic, passionate noise at first listen, and now, later, once my ears got more attuned, i'm realizing that it is a very subtle, very mature & beautiful masterpiece of unblack worship. Elgibbor certainly takes some getting used to, and is not for everyone -- but this is something like his 15[SUP]th[/SUP] to 20[SUP]th[/SUP] full length album, for the most part doing all the instruments and production himself, and he really is growing as a musician with every release. what started off as a big shock to my brain, like a massive static attack of shredding guitar and blast beats, is being refined into a very intricate, passionate, expressive melody as i continue to listen & understand it.

really good stuff, though not easy to listen to, in short :)
for the heaviest of heavies.
best listened to at maximum volume, with a lyric sheet / NKJV Bible in hand

when i get some time to toss together some images, i'm hoping to make a couple of youtube videos to post a couple of the tracks. i know Fire won't mind; in fact i think he'll be happy to see his work being shared.

Remember Screaming Giant Records? They now have a bunch of old stuff for free download like .Road Laver, Seventh Vision and some Officer Negative.
https://screaminggiant.bandcamp.com/

Also old Pluto Records which i believe was Christian owned but did secular and Christian bands has some old free downloads as well, such as Luti-Kris (pre-Norma Jean), Mindrage/Nailed Promise split.

And Remember Billy Power of Tooth and Nail Records/Blenderhead vocalist? He has a free e-book for download recounting a 1995 Blenderhead tour titled 'Bottle Breaker'.

as 'promised' --- one of my favorites from the new Elgibbor album

lyrics by Jesus:

But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.
It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with their assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.
Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back — whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping.
What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’
(Mark 13:32-37)

For Today is definitely one of my favorite Christian metal bands. They proclaim Gods word without worry.

I heard this year will be better than last year but this far this year is bleh.

Lets see. Vocalist of Order of Elijah turned to atheism.
Stryper made cryptic statements about 'not seeing us for a while'. Not sure if that was only for tours or the band as a whole.

Wow, cool to see this thread still going. Might have to do some catching up, and back-pedal a few pages.

Yeah. Feels like this thread is on it's last legs though. People only come around once a month at most. As a result I don't try to keep it alive either.

This thread used to be posted in every day or every other day. Now it's once a month. Sounds like it's dying to me.
I tried for months to keep it going. People still only came once a month. So I quit trying.

I blame carbon copy Christian metalcore

Normally I'm happy to blame metalcore in general for many things. But in this case I think it's just no one comes to the thread anymore because they aren't interested. Now this thread is just for new users to post the name of their fav metalcore band.

Why you gotta be so bleak all the time?

So describing the way this thread has been for over 6 months is me being 'bleak' and not just explaining the thread?

w/e.

here's another song i love from the new Elgibbor album -- "the armor"

lyrics are by the apostle Paul, Ephesians 6:10-20

be strong in the Lord and the power of His might -- put on the full armor of God.

Well the fact that it has been going for 3 years is testament enough to mankind's dedication to the finer details in life.
