In a completely unrelated topic to metal music...I must say Ugly, while you are quite a handsome man I must say in your newest av you are more fetching than ever. I never thought I'd find you so lovely w/out the beard, but I must say,the loss of it really brings out the color of your eyes. :p

I believe i heard something about as well, but it seems not many are convinced. This may be one of those things like the guy from Slayer.

I heard it from some facebook unblack metal page. Apparently he's coming out with a DVD called Unblackened

True. Good music. But the only metal you've posted are 2 Soul Embraced songs. So.. yeah... so far i'm not seeing the metal man. I'm seeing fluff, fluff, fluff and one metal band. *sigh... i think this one has sold his soul for pop music lovin.
It seems like the only slightly more obscure stuff I've heard of, you've heard of too. You even posted ManufraQture. No rest for the Wicked was an awesome disc, although personally my favorite song off of it was Perseverence. When I heard it I kept hearing "I'll never look back, cause it's a crime to me, the nails crying out from the cross so violently" over and over in my head. I went back and checked too, those lyrics are accurate. I should transcribe them tomorrow. They are nowhere to be found on the internet.

Any chance you ever heard of an industrial artist known as Laing? I can't find any of his music on youtube anywhere. He was like.. super obscure. I talked to him via email and he was really cool, but it sounded like there were some health problems. We lost touch and I haven't heard of him since. He had the coolest logo ever too. He gave me his permission to make one of those crosses (for my own personal necklace) if I ever figured out how to make it turn out half as awesome as that. I have both of his albums on CD which were released via CDbaby. Ashes was first, and Groove was second, groove was basically remastered and re recorded ashes. My copy of Groove got damaged and all I have left are 320kbps MP3's of it, I have FLAC files for ashes.

I like a lot of metalcore though. Different styles. My hands are kind of tied behind my back. I have the habit of only liking what I like regardless of genre.

If say, Point of Grace, did an album with aggressive guitar backing, I would like it. A lot. I guess the same for *cough* Zoegirl.

Guess I could post some metalcore. I have only got The Showdown's first three albums. The first and third were the hardest of the ones I owned, but I really think the message was watered down on disc three. Disc two had a really cool southern rock thing going for it, so it was kind of a different style of music altogether (but not the least unwelcome).

Will you destroy the righteous with the wicked
Shine your mercy on but 50 men
Show me 10 yet worthy to see the sun again
Though you're naught but dust and ash I will relent

Stand and be counted
Turn from these ruins
Run

Fire rains from the sky
The hand of justice falls
You spit in the face of one whose might is yet untold
Fire rains from the sky
The scales have tipped too far
A monument encased in ash naught but a grave

Where are these men that came to you this night
Bring them forth that we may know them
Be struck blind clear now a path for those I love
Await the brimstone that comes soon to fill your grave

Stand and be counted
Turn from these ruins
Run

Fire rains from the sky
The hand of justice falls
You spit in the face of one whose might is yet untold
Fire rains from the sky
The scales have tipped too far
A monument encased in ash naught but a grave

Whoa break it down

The stench of Sodom quenched in smoke and flame
Angels enraged bring judgment hence
Justice comes burning sear you from the face of the earth
Dead eyes raised to an ash choked sky

Stand and be counted
Turn from these ruins
Run

Fire rains from the sky
The hand of justice falls
You spit in the face of one whose might is yet untold
Fire rains from the sky
The scales have tipped too far
A monument encased in ash naught but a grave

So funny King Diamond gets a mention. Laffin my buns off....I remember when I was a total noob christian I used to pray for all the metal groups & artists I liked to get saved & King was one of them. lol I used to think how amazing it would be for someone so extreme as him to turn around & put an album out about God. The only KD album I still own is "Them". That cd is insanely awesome & Mickey Dee's drumming is the bomb diggity on it! I still have "Melissa" & "Don't Break The Oath" via Merciful Fate days, but I never pop 'em in.

That Dark Night image (I guess album cover??) Is like a really super cheap rip-off of King's album Them.
and like Missachu, they made me giggle (well, more of a groan/chortle) as well.

lyrics:
Time and time again I have tasted defeat, ripe with lies
The works of my hands have disgraced Your name
But yet I still depend on my feeble mind
Overhead a dark cloud covers the sky
Breeding this pain that will consume my life
Pushing onward without You
Stagnant cycle repeats
Choke the air, kill the man
Each step I take in Your name gives birth to a new life
Every step alone brings pain ten fold
Forgive me
In Your perfect love I am made complete
Pour out your mercy

Psalm 123
Unto thee lift I up mine eyes,
O thou that dwellest in the heavens.

Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters,
and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress;
so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God,
until that he have mercy upon us.

Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us:
for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease,
and with the contempt of the proud.

I don't think it is. He goes by Lanthanum. Plus the only album in the playlist is Groove (which I assume came from the flaming fish catalog). No Ashes.
you're right. i remember hearing Laing on that station though.

Flaming Fish...I used to buy so much of my Industrial stuff via them & True Tunes. Anyone remember True Tunes out of Wheaton IL???? If it weren't for them I'd never have been able to get half the Christian Metal/Industrial stuff I did back in the day after all the christian bookstores around me went on their witch hunt against any christian artist that didn't have a cd cover with rainbows, clouds & women airbrushed beyond recognition with 80's poodle haircuts. BLECH!

Right now I love Demon hunter (Dead flowers and one thouasand apologies), P.O.D (Youth of the nation and Beautiful), and Wolves at the gate.

P.O.D is just such a good band I love them.

Demon Hunter went from good to sounds like everyone else after Triptych. And then the replacement guitarist from another cookie cutter metalcore band did nothing to help them.

I gave up on POD years ago. They became too commercialized musically and there's just something not right there. Some weird vibe that doesn't sit well with me.

Wolves... eh... more core.

I found a video on YouTube of the "best Christian metal bands of all time" and it was quite disappointing. I watched a couple others and they were all the same. Living Sacrifice and Demon hunter, and a mess of more metalcore bands. What made it worse? Every song excerpt they played was a breakdown, and in several cases you couldn't tell one band from another -_- heartless infidels

Well, likely none of them can use the word 'core' to describe their style. Except maybe some old hardcore. And i mean Real hardcore, not this convoluted, psuedo-hybrid concept of what people think hardcore is today. All these lame generic titles trying to describe essentially one style of music. Metalcore. Hardcore/metal. Metal/hardcore. bleh

If you want Real metal... there's plenty to choose from.
