I actually know those already lol. Thanks though. I forgot to reply to your other post but I've checked out last.fm before on all different genres. That site definitely does help but I have noticed that not all of the artists tagged as Christian actually are.

The few doom bands i have:
Ancient Prophecy - Days of Doom
Breath of Life - Goodbye Proud World
Endless Funeral - A Second Beginning / Dawn of Rebirth
Goliath - The Gate
Paramaecium - Echos From The Ground / Repentance EP / Time To Mourn / Within The Ancient Forest / Exhumed of the Earth / Silent Carnage (Demo)

others..
My Silent Wake - EP / Shadow of Sorrow / The Anatomy of Melancholy / A Garland of Tears / IV Et Lex Perpetua (Band is headed by a Christian, and has some faith related songs, but not a 'Christian' band. Some members are non-Christian)
Ashen Mortality - Demo / Separation (Demo) / Sleepless Remorse / Your Caress
Faith - Decades of Despair
Wipe Away - The Meeting
Thanks man. I won't deny that I'm lazy but even you got to admit looking through that many posts in hope of finding some good bands just seems annoying lol. Maybe I'll check it out in sections later but my mind will get too bored too quick with looking at the whole thing.

I'm not familiar with doom, the only one I can think of is Impending Doom.

But if you want Unblack, I'm your man! You mentioned symphonic unblack, check out Armath Sargon
You dirty butternugget, Just because they have the word 'doom' in their name doesn't make Impending Doom a doom band =P Its called deathcore =P Now go play with your glitter like a good little vampire.

No, actually i don't. It seems you didn't even try really. I have tons of videos posted, not links, the videos in the thread. So you can just look for videos. Or you can use the search feature in your browser, most browsers should have one, to search each page for a keyword. Type the word in, start clicking, when it highlights something see if its what you're looking for. Don't have to even look at 95% of the posts that way.

While still advertised and listened to within Christian circles, Slechtvalk has pulled away from their faith musically. I'm not sure where they are at spiritually, but they no longer have much to do with expressing their faith anymore. Its more viking/battle metal now.
Same with Eluveitie, in case you come across them.
I think Antestor got a bit iffy for a while, they hired a drummer named 'Hellhammer' for an album. Seemed odd to me, as he was known in a secular band.
And i believe at one point Extol stated a regret about coming out as a Christian band. Not sure how true that is, but its what i heard.

All these bands are from around your area, what's up with that? =P heh

I've never heard Saviour Machine referred to as doom.
Well what exactly is doom metal? The others posted like Crimson Moonlight, Slechtvalk, and Antestor are black metal bands (or some black metal hybrid) and the secular band Pentagram which has always been called a Doom metal band, sounds nothing like any of these... Is it a lyrical thing or does it have an actual distinct sound?

Yeah that's not bad. Got any more you can think of? Doesn't have to be symphonic, but I do enjoy symphonic lol.
Unfortunately not like Armath. haha. I know wintersoul has a killer unblack sound, they have some symphonics if I remember right, and they're a lot more aggressive. They employ clean female vocals in a few songs too.

Doom metal is a distinct sound. Typically slow paced, heavy, plodding. It comes in two main flavors 'stoner' and 'death/doom'. Stoner is more like hmm... well, Black Sabbath is said to have had some influence in the 'stoner' sound. The vocals tend to be more clean/singing. Maybe a touch more of a rock/metal vibe. Whereas death/doom is what it sounds like, slow paced styled death metal.

This is an example of death/doom (Christian)

And this is an example of stoner doom, probably similar to Pentagram as it is the same guy doing it. He became a Christian years ago.

Yeah I have some Place of Skull albums. I didn't realize that's considered doom metal though. I always thought Doom Metal was more like the first vid ya posted or Virgin Black and such (which I don't care for). But I like the Place of Skulls and the stoner doom stuff I guess =)

I'm not so big on doom in general, especially the stoner stuff, but this band is awesome, just one CD though

If you read the first post you'll see he is looking for Doom and Black metal, not metalcore.

Why would a Christian band have doom metal as their genre?

Doom metal is meant to invoke despair, dread, and impending doom.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to attack, just super curious about this one.

For the same reason unblack metal exists...

Although I always thought the moniker was silly.
