Before I share this song, i would like to explain how this song come about.....
I can't take the credit for this song, because all credit is due to our Almighty God! He is so wonderful, so amazing. He put the lyrics and music in my heart and as his instrument he poured out his music through me. I was merely playing a simple tune last Saturday afternoon, when like wildfire it began to grow rapidly. As the words began to flow from my mouth, so did the tears from my eyes. I quickly realized that this just wasn't a song, but God was speaking to me. The original chorus simply said, "My son, you think you're lost. You have only been misguided, through the shadowy fog. My son, pick up your cross and carry it through the mountains. I will guide you home, I will guide you home." That was so touching for me, but i don't think it was only meant for me. I know there are so many people struggling in the world, and i feel that this song was meant for them too. So I am on a quest to get this song out into the world. I pray you use me Oh God, let the music flow from me Lord, may it find a way to those who may need to hear it. Now to back track a bit, I played this for a fellow christian brother at my church. After he listened, he began to tell me how the song reminded him of Jesus' parable of the prodigal son. Now i had never read this before, so i sat down to read it. By the time i was finished tears streamed down my face. I knew right there, it was Gods word flowing from me in this song. I had never known anything about the parable, yet God placed that in my heart to minister with my music. Thank you Jesus...I praise your holy name. I played this in the Yousing room a few times, and our good friend Meggars asked if she could do a piano cover of this song. Of course I immediately accepted. I allowed her to make some minor changes like, "My son" to "My child". So here it is, Meggars' cover of Gods song "My Child".....
