I'm sitting here watching the news coverage from Ferguson. I've never seen anything like this. This rioting and looting is deeply troubling to me. I understand being upset, and peaceful protesting is something I can tolerate. What's going on there though is absolutely troubling to me. I cannot understand how this anger and lashing out in this way is doing anything but causing people less and less respect for people.

I hope people come to their senses soon and this is all calmed down.
It's controlled ...all controlled, any real protest is heavily outweighed ...Something though, when even the Father asked for peace either way...they respect no one..

That would just make a local issue turn out to be a country wide issue, for there is already a lot of people upset with the government. All it takes is the right action and this country will be in an all out civil war again.
the thugs looting and burning buildings are domestic terrorists period. it is time for the cops to quit playing nice and to treat the terrorists as terrorists.

I've been in both L.A. riots plus the ELA riots...this won't be the only night...pray it doesn't spread to other parts.

Seeing small businesses that belong to hard working people destroyed, looted, and even burned is very disheartening at this point. Controlled or not its a sad situation. Not to mention this is not bringing a positive light to any of the events that have taken place. Everything about this situation is sad, and is something no person ever wants to see. Our fellow people destroying a town, and more importantly harming other people.

As I said before I hope the situation is soon calmed and if the protesting must continue, I hope it is peaceful. And hopefully the rioting does not spread to other places. I know other places are protesting, but every thing seems peaceful that I've seen elsewhere so hopefully it continues to be peaceful.

Sadly most of these small businesses that are being vandalized will end up leaving this area which will depress it even more.

Its sad for the peaceful people and the people in surrounding areas, agreed. At the same time though, can you really blame them? I would certainly be skeptical about returning to a community that destroyed my hard work. Then again many of these businesses may, and likely, never will end up being rebuilt at all. My understanding is that for the most part an insurance policy does not cover damages from a riot.

politics pure and simple release the information at night not in the day? let buildings burn scared of gunshots unless firing them?blame race like its not an issue? then you get supposed Christians saying call in air strikes and im sure all sorts of stuff. The LA riots with Rodney King burns in my memory the sites and smells vivid, that area still recovering this is just as bad or worse and if the judicial system makes no changes it will get worse. talk of insensitive shaking my head burning buildings helps what? looting helps what? this is idiocy what are you protesting for make the point clear so I can understand!!!

Yeah I've heard speculation on why the information was released at night, but no concrete answer. I would love to hear the actual reason.

Lets be honest here, the looting IS NOT even for the most part related to Michael Brown. Its sad, but breaking into a liquor store and stealing liquor IS NOT bringing justice or helping matters. Stealing from a McDonalds... A cell phone store.. All I could do was shake my head when I watched that last night. Sad.. sickening are the only words I know to explain it.

Oh, I don't blame them at all. My heart goes out for all of the business owners who have lost their livelihoods and the employees who have lost their jobs. Tearing up your own community solves no problems.

of course. it is a rating-driver for them, that is all they care about. money lost, property damaged or destroyed? people on both sides getting injured or worse? nah, all about the ratings and furthering a liberal agenda.

I have seen enough situations like that to see that most of the time it's an excuse to smash windows and get free stuff and not get caught (hopefully).

I don't understand why anybody thinks rioting will solve anything.

"Included in the grand jury material released tonight after the announcement that no charges would be filed in the Michael Brown killing is a handwritten witness account stating that the teenager charged at Officer Darren Wilson 'like a football player. Head down.'

The unidentified witness wrote that the 18-year-old Brown 'has his arms out with attitude,' while 'The cop just stood there.' The witness added, 'Dang if that kid didn’t start running right at the cop like a football player. Head down.'

The witness told of hearing '3 bangs,' but 'the big kid wouldn’t stop.' The witness’s account of the unarmed Brown charging Wilson--even after he had been shot in the hand during a struggle at the cop’s patrol car--supports the officer’s contention that he fired a series of shots as Brown bore down on him." -The Smoking Gun

Ferguson Witnesss Told Investigators That Michael Brown Charged Cop "Like a Football Player. Head Down" | The Smoking Gun

"Big Mike," an adult and gang associate, violently assaulted a police officer and went for his gun who was trying to get him to leave the middle of the road where he was holding up traffic after committing a strong-arm robbery.

There are consequences to engaging in criminal behavior. There are consequences to committing a felonious assault (and possible attempted murder) on a police officer. One of those is that you very well might end up dead as the police officer defends himself and the society he's sworn to protect.

"Big Mike" was not a kid, he was an adult. And as an adult, "Big Mike" was 100% entirely responsible for his own behavioral choices. He reaped what he sowed and though it's not popular to say this, the world is a safer and better place.

Certainly police corruption needs to be ferreted out and removed; however, this has NOTHING to do with that but rather is a simple case of a police officer lawfully defending himself against a large adult assailant. Thank you Officer Wilson for having the courage and competency to defend yourself and fulfill your oath to protect society from dangerous criminals such as "Big Mike."

there you have it ageofknowledge just summed up his attitude like the grand jury based on bias and innuendo as he was not there only the witnesses. One question what of the other witnesses and the lost video. This is why the unrest and turmoil 9 whites 3 three blacks deciding the fate of a dead black boy. He was a boy. Yes ignorant actions all around but when will it stop maybe ageofknowledge can explain that to the black families over the US every 36 hours when one is killed by a police officer check your own facts!!

Lol @ pastac. The Grand Jury examined all the evidence including testimony from all known witnesses and determined that there was NOT enough probable cause to indict police Officer Darren Wilson.

And "Big Mike" that gang associated strong arm robber certainly was an adult male. I have zero sympathy for this fabricated false Michael Brown the unarmed child narrative.

He was an adult. When I was his age, I was in the U.S. military endowed with adult responsibilities that included landing multi-million dollar aircraft, working with sensitive radio communications, standing military security watches, casting my ballot as an adult, etc..

And I always check the facts. What they tell me is that black males commit a great deal of crime, especially violent crime, that far exceeds their per capita percentage of the general population.

Though black Americans only represent 13.2% of the U.S. population, According to the US Department of Justice, blacks accounted for 52.5% of homicide offenders from 1980 to 2008 for example.

Don't choose to engage in criminal behavior and violently assault police officers and you won't have "Big Mike" the gang associated strong arm robber's problems.

There's a lot that I like and respect about pastac. He's alright in my book. This is just one of those real life emotionally charged situations we're going to disagree on (for now as who knows about the future).

For my part, I'll keep it focused on the argument. Peace.

All I can say is they better release all evidence that they were shown to the public, to show why they come up with their decision. I am watching CNN right now and the guy speaking just said there is no video of the final shots.
What happened to the couple of cell phone video's of Brown being shot ?

The same thing that happens to all vital pieces of video evidence.. the po-po erased the most crucial parts of it. :/ just sayin'

the thugs looting and burning buildings are domestic terrorists period. it is time for the cops to quit playing nice and to treat the terrorists as terrorists.

I understand the looting and burning of buildings is wrong and domestic terrorism, but they can not just use deadly force on all the protester's like you said for some of them are not doing the looting and burning. Most are standing where they are aloud to, and using their right of freedom of speech and assembly in an appropriate manner.

There has been a long known issue of police misuse of force, and brutality. Unless you have been in the system, rather working for it or being a prisoner of it, or even evangelized to those who are prisoners of it. Then you would not understand how corrupted it is. Financial deals between judges and lawyers on putting people away, or letting them go on a lesser charge if charged at all; planting of evidence, suppressing evidence, brutality, discrimination, and more.
To use deadly force on all the protesters would make the police domestic terrorists as well.

You need to recheck your sources.
The second picture you posted is not of Mike Brown. It was a false picture of another black male from Kansas City, the police officer that posted that pic was on the KC police force and was put on suspension for posting that false pic.
