According to the News in Indian television, the Hindu religious outfit, are organising an event,on 25the december. They are going to convert 4000, christians to hindus, and in year they are planning to bring to Hindusim, about 1,00,000 people.
they are calling this program, House return. they are saying, the Hindus, were converted to christianity, and they are returning home(Hinduism)

our prayers are needed, we can pray for a minute for this matter, in our heart. and kneeling down before our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.

God bless!

Well, they can't take away God's people.

I just hope they don't get violent. :(

That's very sad. Let's pray it backfires.

Pray especially for the Orissa province. There has been a lot of anti-Christian violence there.

I heard from a pastor near Madhya Pradesh, that some of these religious outfits are going around collecting money,
(2,00,000 lac for Christans, and 5,00,000 for Muslims).

Just shows how they use money and corruption for this. Sick and disgusting. They're probably planning to bribe poor people.

They're calling it "ghar wapsi" meaning "homecoming"

"
According to a report in Economic Times, the location and date of the event has been chosen very carefully by the organisers.

"Aligarh was chosen because it's time we wrest the Hindu city from Muslims. It is a city of brave Rajputs and their temples on whose remains Muslim institutions have been established," RSS regional pracharak Rajeshwar Singh told the English daily.

Christmas was chosen as the day for conversion because the event is a "shakti pariksha" (test of strength) for both religions, said Singh. "If their religion is better, they can stop them. It is a test for both of us. If they come to us on Christmas, it is the biggest rejection of the faith."

The people expected to participate in the event have been identified from 40 slums in Aligarh, Bulandshahar and Hathras. "

From : RSS plans mass conversion to Hinduism on Christmas

PS - In prayer over this.

Praying for India. This is not the first time the Hindus in India have tried to do this. But, am I right in suggesting that violence will play a major part in these conversions? Like the wave of militant Hindus a few years ago, who burned Christian villages, and set a little girl on fire, because she refused to stop believing in Jesus.

Interesting that the Muslims are being targeted. I wonder if this will mean a brutal war between extremists of both Hinduism and Islam?

Truth is one, though the wise recognize it by many names.

Two quotes from the Vedas I find pertinent for this discussion.

No, I don't see how it is pertinent to the discussion.

Neither do I understand the need to quote Hindu scripture in a Christian website when the context for it doesn't even arise. If you think it's being sardonic, I don't think that is very amusing.

As an Indian Christian living in India where my freedom of religion is being infringed upon, your offhand mentioning of Hinduism to fuel your agendas on the site is offensive.

It means two things in relation to religious tolerance:

1. Acceptance that others are on different paths to I
2. That whichever path a person is on ultimately leads to the same goal.

They are Hindu sayings about religious tolerance and non-evangeliizing This is a thread about professed Hindus potentially evangelizing, with undercurrents about violence and religious intolerance.

The point is, really, if the evangelists were truly Hindu they wouldn't be evangelizing, nor would they be intolerant toward Christians. You can find whatever you like offensive, that is of course only a reaction, and its only cause is your decision to react in that manner. The purpose of writing the sayings was to illustrate the Hindu teaching towards tolerance and acceptance of others, which is obviously oxymoronic considering the evangelism and fear of violence that is spoken about in the thread.

I do hope you find shelter and avoid any trouble. I also hope some peace seeking, genuine Hindus help avoid violence and keep people safe. Reconciliation regardless of differences is worth infinitely more than forcing people into giving up their personal beliefs.

You are just as arrogant as the atheist I have been dealing with in SA. You all have a chip on your shoulder thinking you can do and say whatever you like because you feel enlightened to not believe in a god. Well newsflash, you are on a Christian website so don’t be condescending towards our religion else go to your atheist gathering place… oh wait maybe that is what you are missing, some humanity and communion.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that Hinduism is an incredibly dark and violent religion, one filled with absolute fear.

Define 'genuine Hindu.' Ever met one? I sure didn't.
'Hindus' themselves never bothered to define their own 'religion.'
That what we call 'hinduism' is a whole world of traditions, cults, sects, mad pagan practices.

Quoting Hindu scripture without mentioning it's verse and context or what point you're trying to elaborate is unfair to discussion, being that most posters here are not Hindus.

In case you might forget, this is ChristianChat.com , not HinduChat.com

Also, as pointed by another poster, Hinduism is a way of life. People are considered to be "born" as Hindus hence the use of the caste system in India.

In case you didn’t know, “untouchables” or practices of it, have long been banned but the continuation of it in various forms and other aspects of casteism still exists in the Hindu system.

Sticking to traditions and holding fast to customs from years ago have long been a hallmark of true and genuine Hindus.

I didn't think it'd take a genius to work out what they meant. I worked it out, and I'm not Hindu. Essentially, you're getting offended because I posted a couple of Hindu verses that show that Hindus who evangelize aren't being conformative to the teachings of religious tolerance and acceptance within their own religion. I think your offence reaction might be a bit sensitive.

How childish. Re-read the context of my post. I was essentially making a point AGAINST the evangelizing Hindus who may or may not cause violence.

Yes, the religion that talks about reincarnation after death towards an ultimate enlightenment for all living beings is more promoting of fear than the one whose adherents state ''Think like us, or burn in hell for the rest of eternity''.
