I can't believe this, but Hillary Clinton has a 56% approval rating. Scott Walker is at 16% and Rand Paul is at 15%. Does this sound like a fair election to you? Does this sound like democracy to you? I'm surprised they are even bothering to have an election.

I don't like Hillary because she seems to think the best way to govern is to disregard the constitution, and do what you want. If congress doesn't approve, just push the legislation through anyway. People think she cares about the poor. The only people she cares about are rich corporate executives who donate to her campaign. She is not a feminist! She only wants equality for wealthy, upper class women. One of her biggest issues is equal pay for equal work. That's fine Hillary, but since when is 50 billion not enough?

Ummm how is that not democracy? Its not our fault that Walker and Paul are unlikable twits. The people saying they are unlikable is pretty much the definition of a democracy. We actually aren't a democracy anyways but a republic.

Uh ... no.

Hillary is favored by 56% of Democrats, largely because they have no other choice at the moment. Meaning her numbers stink, given she's the only choice so far and that number means 44% of Democrats are waiting for someone, anyone, but Billary.

Walker, Paul, Huckabee, and Ben Carson garnered from 10-16% preferential ratings in a Public Policy Polling sampling nationwide taken over the week. So let's review: Walker, Paul, Huckabee, and Carson are in double digits in a field of a couple dozen. Billary gets a bit more than half the support of her party in a one-horse race. Does this tell you anything?

Does this sound like a fair election to you?
No, but we're still almost a year form the first real vote -- the Iowa Caucuses.

Does this sound like democracy to you?
Yes, actually.

I'm surprised they are even bothering to have an election.
And I'm beginning to think you protest too much. I'm guessing you're not supporting Walker, Paul, Huckabee, or Carson. I'm guessing you're a Billary fan and are trying to deflate the competition. Forget it. In the end, you'll lose.

I don't like Hillary because she seems to think the best way to govern is to disregard the constitution, and do what you want. If congress doesn't approve, just push the legislation through anyway.
Maybe, but the only proof of anyone like that we have is Obama. I don't think they like each other very much.

She is a liar and a snake and was tied to insider trading in Arkansas when her husband Bill was tied to Cocaine trafficking, the murder of witnesses and numerous lies that he told the people of Arkansas before being elected to his last term as governor and then President.....Mena, Arkansas<-----and even though many will argue this....many witnesses who were tied to this ended up dead and or imprisoned while being silenced dia a corrupt prosecutor who refused to testify and ended up in jail........A lawyer who had proof and was on his way to testify with proof was run off the road and executed and all evidence disappeared.......Anyone who votes for her needs their head examined!

I protest too much you say? Is this not a political forum? I am concerned with the state of our nation, NPI. I am politically active, and I am very informed about what is going on in the world. I brief myself on political issues daily. I am an intelligent woman who is politically informed! Imagine that.

Sorry Vigilante_Warrior, but you have misjuged my intentions. I am not a Hillary supporter. I am a Rand Paul supporter, and if he is nominated, I want to work for his campaign.

I like Senator Paul because he believes in upholding the Constitution of the United States. He does not believe in using robots to kill people. He doesn't like the NSA, and he thinks the government shouldn't be spying on people. He thinks abortion is wrong. He did not support the grand jury verdict in the Michael Brown case, and he wants to give more rights to minorities.

Hillary Clinton has not addressed any of these issues. She goes to fundraising events and charges huge amounts of money for speaking. I know all candidates do that, but very few of them claim to be "flat broke" after doing so. The Clintons were not "flat broke" after Bill's campaign.

The reason I sarcastically called her a dictator is because she has been actively campaigning for three years. No one else in the Democratic party wants to run. The media has built her up, and promoted her on all the major networks, and in case you didn't know, the media chooses the President, not us.

You accuse me of protesting too much! I think political discussions are fun. Perhaps you don't enjoy them as much as I do, but if you don't, then why did you post on this thr

Remember Vincent Foster? He was a Clinton Adminisration cabinet member who mysteriously commited suicide. He didn't commit suicide. He was murdered, just like everyone else who knew about the Clintons crooked dealings.

Yeah committed suicide with an ungloved hand and with a pistol, but no prints on the gun.....I had just thought of his name when re-reading my post while trying to remember the name of the corrupt prosecutor.......!

And no GSR on his hands....!

I would like to know one thing that Hillary (named after the Mtn climber dude) Clinton has accomplished in her life besides getting fired as a govt lawyer for ethics violations.

Surely there must be bigger issues than her accomplishments. What of her entitlements? Has she not earned the right to be world ruler?

She will be the first woman president of the US. The mindless majority will vote on that basis alone. Beside if she is not appointed err-ah... elected she will get down right mad. You do not want her mad.

No doubt.....one of the most ignorant statements that I have ever heard come out of the mouth of a politician was her statement about the embassy attack in Bengazi.....WHAT DOES IT MATTER blah blah blah...........If I would have been on that panel I would have ripped her a new one over that statement!

The United States is a republic, but democracy is the type of government we have. I never said the U.S. was a democracy.

That makes you about a step-and-a-half from being a Billary supporter, in my book. Isolationist, pro-gambling, pro-drug legalization, very nearly pro-choice. How far is that, really, from Billary?

I find it reprehensible that out of 316.1 million people in the U.S. the two leading candidates for the highest public office in the nation are Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush:

Who are you supporting? The only candidate who is hardcore Tea Party is Ted Cruz, and he can't run because he's a Canadian. Presidential nominees are usually political moderates. They nominate people like that because they appeal to everybody. Rand Paul and Hillary Clinton are opposing sides of the political spectrum. By the way, how can someone be "very nearly pro-choice"? Either you are pro-choice or you're not, and he's not.

I'm pro-choice but I also believe that choice ends at conception.

Rand Paul is too wacky to win on the national stage. He's good on economics but his views are not mainstream on most everything else.

There are only two requirements that a Presidential candidate must meet. He/she must be at least 40 years old, and he/she must have been born in this country. Ted Cruz was born in Canada. I don't care what your source says, those are the requirements. I guess you are the one who isn't politically informed.

This is not surprising that Hillary would have approval over the vast majority of the candidates. Very telling indeed with them combined she still ranks out better by 12 percent. I had seen other polls in hypothetical head-to-head races where she dominates one-on-one by just as much or more. Polls change though as time goes on, so no need to get too worked up over them.

As it stands today Hillary is both well known and favored, and has the advantage of having her party largely unified behind her as the Democrats are otherwise totally depleted of star contenders without her. This is the secret to her landslide favorability for the current moment. The disadvantage is that if Hillary does not run, the Democrats have no real contenders and have wasted time to promote the profile of an acceptable alternative.

The GOP by comparison has a few rising stars, but no superstars. The advantage of the GOP is they have the opportunity to reunify their party and the spotlight to promote a good candidate. The disadvantage is the GOP could also unravel itself with in-fighting and also loses time building a solid defense if Hillary does run.

Absolutely untrue. He/she must be born of at least one natural-born American parent. Doesn't matter where he/she was born. Ted Cruz's mother was from Delaware. I thought we settled all this nonsense when every ultra-right winger wanted to nullify Obama's election because he wasn't born in the U.S. Even if he wasn't, his mother was born in Kansas. End of story.
