1. No, you didn't. You just told me I was wrong over and over. You didn't show me anything.

2. I never claimed veterans were treated better than civilians. I said they don't deserve special rights that are not available to citizens.

Here's how I see it:

1. Nobody has access to healthcare outside their state.
2. Only veterans have access to healthcare outside their state. Civilians do not.
3. EVERYONE has access to healthcare outside their state.

I'm arguing for number 3 - the most capitalist of the three options. You're acting like I'm supporting option 1 - I don't. Which one of those three options do you support?

Keep in mind, having access to healthcare means that it's available for purchase. It DOES NOT mean you automatically receive that care for free (or through tax dollars). If you thought I was talking about civilians OBTAINING outside healthcare through government, then that would explain why this debate is happening and it would clearly be a huge misunderstanding.

1) Seriously?

2) You stated that Vets could purchase Health Care across State Lines. Care to support that with FACTS?

3) You seem to be under the impression that Vets receive a "Cadillac Health Care" Benefits Plan.......nothing could be further from the truth. As you seem to want everyone to have the same standard of health care...........why are you dissing Vets who have a health care system far below the national standard?

4) Have you any concept of what an Employment/Service Contract is? Do you know that such contracts may/most often do contain "benefits" packages? Do you know that every Union member in America has such a Contract? Do you know that every Civil Service worker in America has such a contract? Do you know that every major Corporation offers to it's employees such a contract? Do you know that out of ALL of these, the least desirable quality of care is given to Vets? Have you ever made the effort to visit a VA Hospital and see the 'QUALITY OF CARE" they are receiving? This quality of care you don't believe they have a right to?

When it comes to "strawmen".................... YOU are the Poster Child..........

And you are not worth commenting to.........given your complete lack of motivation to search for yourself and educate yourself......don't worry, have another toke......eat some Doritos......and life will be good........

(Note to self: Ignore List increased by one)

I said veterans should not be the only ones able to purchase health care across state lines. I never said they could. Reading the OP again, I was somehow under the impression that you were promoting the ability for veterans to buy out of state insurance. I'll admit I was wrong, but instead of telling me how I was wrong and saying, "It's not about out of state insurance, it's about any insurance outside a specific plan created by the government", you decided you would belittle me as much as you could without doing anything resembling a rational argument. Way to go.

You could have saved us hours of bickering.

This quality of care you don't believe they have a right to?
NEWSFLASH:

Here's how I see it:

1. Nobody has access to healthcare outside their state.
2. Only veterans have access to healthcare outside their state. Civilians do not.
3. EVERYONE has access to healthcare outside their state.

I'm arguing for number 3
I provided 3 options and I listed which option I believed we should pursue, the option that allows vets to have access to the best healthcare.

1) It was you who made "claims" about Vets and their medical benefits........and you did not back up any of your misstatements..........
No, I was responding to your claim.

2) It was you who said "you couldn't be bothered to do the research yourself......didn't mean that much to you......you want others to do the work while you reap the rewards..........so, yes, that makes you appear to believe you are "entitled."
Wrong. It is the responsibility of the claim maker to provide sources backing his information. It is not my responsibility to provide sources about YOUR claims. This is debate 101.

3) The fact that you could not distinguish a "tongue in cheek" remark for what it was only enhances your lack of knowledge.
Well, you should probably stop spitting on the church. Oh, you don't spit on the church? It was just tongue in cheek, how could you not know?

You're 64 years old. Stop acting like a small child.

4) Oh, goodness...............you took the words right out of my mouth...........make the effort to educate yourself about a subject/program before you decide to dive in and start posting nonsensical remarks/comments.
I'll admit, somewhere along the line I was under the impression that the OP was talking about granting access to out of state insurance to veterans. Of course, instead of politely correcting me so we could have a civil conversation, you decided to waste out time.

Said the guy who started belittling veterans long before my emotions admittedly got the best of me, resulting in the anger I felt being posted. But I'm a vet, and I did tell you that, and yet you continued dissing vets as though they had done nothing to deserve special access to healthcare. Way to go yourself.

And you never made it clear you rant against out-of-state insurance purchases had anything to do with my OP, and I knew I said nothing about it, so how was I supposed to know what you were thinking? Looked to me like you went off on a tangent to express your own frustrations.

V-W............do you purchase Health Care Insurance across State lines?

I still don't know where this idea comes from that Vets can purchase private insurance across State lines comes from. Now, I did put that dude on my "Ignore" list, so can't see his comments anymore.....tired of his belittling Vets and then denying it as if we are not capable of reading.......however.......

As a Vet, I am provided Health Care by the Veterans Administration as an "earned Benefit" for my service......one COULD say that I "purchased" it WITH my service........but that is silly.......or not? Hmmm, will have to think on that one.. :)

However, IF I want additional Private Health Care Insurance through a private Insurance Provider like Blue Cross or some such, I am bound by the same State Regulatory Laws as any citizen in Alabama. I do not get special treatment in that way. Matter of fact, I don't get special treatment from ANY State, County or City Agency in Alabama. So I don't know where this comes from.
