House Republicans seek ObamaCare repeal, more defense $$ in new budget plan

House Republicans, unveiling their first budget blueprint since the party took control of Congress, issued a sweeping spending plan Tuesday that calls for complete repeal of ObamaCare, major changes to Medicare and controversial moves to boost defense spending despite tight budget limits.

GOP leaders say their budget would balance in less than 10 years, and in that time cut spending by $5.5 trillion compared with current projections.
Sounds good. I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm so used to these guys caving, I am beginning to see them as the typical #16 seed in the NCAA basketball tournament: Happy to be there, but already to packed and ready to go home before taking the floor for the first game.

The newly acquired Republican Majority in Congress has been to this date a complete flop in my opinion. That old adage: Much todo about nothing............

All their campaign promises are proving to be just a load of, well, a load of it for sure. Squandered opportunities. These guys (especially the Leadership) are scared to death of Obama.

Obama probably has dirt on 90% of em. Look what happened to Petraeus. Something tells me that in Washington...base desires are appealed too and pictures are taken.

Even if they could get the bill past a Democrat filibuster and get it passed they would never be able to muster enough votes to override a Presidential veto in which case it would end up being a purely symbolic move.

Funny you should mention Petraeus. You do know Obama is still using him as an Advisor in the fight against ISIS? True. Funny, but true.

Symbolic moves are all the Republican have with Obama as President and their not having a veto proof Congress.........BUT this is EXACTLY what they promised during the campaigns. Pass Bill after Bill, lay out a plan for America, and if Obama veto's them, so be it. And this is EXACTLY what they should be doing each and every day they are in session,

Enact the Nuclear Option............where they only need 51 votes for a Bill to be passed (just as Reid and the Dems did), and pass Bill after Bill. Yet, they do not have the Leadership or the courage to act. There is no "there - there" when it comes to these Republicans in my opinion.

An interesting alternative to the GOP's twist in the wind Americans approach to healthcare and the Democrat's nanny-Mao approach is economist Laurence Kotlikoff's 'Purple Health Plan': The Purple Health Plan | The Purple Health Plan

The Purple is a play on when red (GOP) and blue (Democrats) come together. Red + Blue = Purpose. Get it?

Endorsers: Supporters of The Purple Health Plan | The Purple Health Plan

Radical "wingnuts" on both sides won't like it, of course, but I wholly support such an approach as a realistic way out of the current debacle of Obamacare and the rapidly declining U.S. healthcare environment that preceded it which was taking us to even a worse place.
