European court challenge to UK surveillance - BBC News
Rights groups have asked the European Court of Human Rights to rule on the legality of the UK's large-scale surveillance regime.

Amnesty International, Liberty and Privacy International filed a legal complaint with the court today.
The scale of the surveillance carried out by GCHQ has been revealed by US whistleblower Edward Snowden.
A similar legal challenge mounted in the UK last year saw judges rule that the spying did not breach human rights.

There IS much surveillance here. I don't mind the CCTV, but I find it stupid that I have to use my keycard three times just to enter my workplace each morning :p (Not sure if that is UK or US standard though, as I work for a US company in the UK :p)

surveillance and security and spying, all have different functions.
the thing about snowden, governments were or could, and can ,spy on everyone, they want, etc yet the public are to say yes that ok.
so now, the courts will be busy trying to justify an answer. but will the answer ever justify everyones sense of privacy.
