Here's a report about the facts of the story on snopes.

Josh Duggar Sex Abuse Scandal now.snopes.com

There are several correlated stories that have also come out in relation to this. The day after the news broke, the Arkansas police destroyed the police records associated with Josh Duggar at the behest of a judge.

His parents were aware of his actions and failed to report it to police for a year and a half.

The "counseling" he received (according to his mother) involved him working with a friend of the family who owned a construction business and wasn't really therapeutic counseling.

There's been no information made available about the kind of counseling provided to his victims.

I have never like this show from the beginning because it seems sinister, mind controlled children(mother) and they were to perfect. This shows how Christian community lack discernment of the Holy Spirit just because the family seemed to be perfect all American apple pie religious family, but remember Hollyweird is full of illusion. Observed any normal middle class who has 19 children instead of a man made show full of lies. This demonstrates how folks are mislead by a false deception of outward appearance and means the Christians can be mislead by the Anti-Christ. These tv shows are controlling your minds folks with a false illusion. I believe this family is in a cult secretly, so folks have been fooled once again by appearance.

“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. ...We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society. ...In almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons...who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind.”

Until more details come to light, the cultural stoning of the Duggars is undeserved.

Even though they are heretics.

Television has done its job perfectly because the old folks of the church stated the following: Devil is right in ours house which is the television. Since he has confessed from his own mouth which equals a confession. I do not watch that show anyhow because folks need to observed the real world families struggling everyday with nineteen children and admire how they live their lives with respect.

That's not going to stop the lip-flapping self-appointed "judges" from flapping and judging. But it was a nice gesture, Des.

I don't know much about the situation or the Duggars. It seems to me that all these reality show families turn into a hot mess. Best to not ever put yourself or children on a I guess reality show. Why expose them to that?

Josh and the Duggars have admitted this is true, so there is no point in denying these claims. Unfortunately this kind of thing happens in families a lot more than some may realize. I have an acquaintance who works in that field. She says this kind of thing unfortunately happens a lot. It just generally never makes the news (as it shouldn't).
