Sad news we're waking up to this morning in Britain, latest figures: 38 dead and more injuries (mainly Brits) coming from Tunisia.

I would never choose to holiday in an Arabic (Muslim majority) country and that includes Tunisia and also Turkey (I would love to visit Israel) both very popular destinations for the British seeking the sun.

So sad...

I'm really sad as well. That's simply too shocking - families were saving money, going to spend good time together and they got shot in the end!! Such a cruelty. Have to say I' ve been in Tunisia 2 years ago, not so far from area where all this happened. We didn' t feel good there, local people tried everything to get money from tourists in such snaky ways, all this atmosphere was kinda suppressed, later we simply stayed in hotel area because it was so dangerous going outside of that, especially for women..I hope nobody is going there anymore, actually should have learned from attack there in march..but of course, who would know it can happen again in such a small time gap..Very very sad..

I went to Tunisia way way back in 1980 for my honeymoon - long before I became a Christian. Be were bothered and chased by locals wanting us to buy their goods. I found the armed police threatening too. I would never go back. I have heard that Egypt is similar for being bothered.

Whats happening in the world. Its like everywhere you turn theres killings.... and if its not terrorism its mass deaths from heat (Pakistan) or earthquake (Nepal). Is it worse in the world or is it always like this and I'm just starting to see it.

:( it's so frustrating that we can't do anything other than pray. IS have also killed over 200 people in Kobani :(
I was in Marrakesh last year and I shudder to think of Morocco being attacked in a similar way. I hope the worlds nations manage stop those lunatics soon, before they kill all the peaceful muslims (and non muslims) that are left "down" there.

My thoughts exactly, Parrot. These people didn't deserve the death penalty, but when you play with fire you often get burned. I don't understand why someone would want to vacation in such a place.

This wasn't in the Canadian news this morning, but it is now. However, the biggest concern in the article seemed to be for the Tunisian tourist industry, not the people killed. I wonder if a Canadian had been killed if it might have been different?'

So sorry to hear about the deaths, and that this madness keeps on spreading.

Sorry that should be 15 British confirmed dead "but number likely to rise", 1 German, 1 Belgian and 1 Irish, 38 killed in total and a similar number of injured.

The final figure of British lost in the shooting was 30 out of a total of 38 killed. There will be a minutes silence tomorrow at 12pm British summer time. 12 people have been arrested in Tunisia in connection to the shooting apart from the gunman who was killed by local police at the scene.

I agree. Holidays there are cheap for a reason! People are severely under educated about what goes on in these place and clearly under educated about how dangerous the Muslim maniacs are.

One of the victims lives about 10 minutes away. I didn't know them personally but just goes to show that nobody is safe.

I think I'll just go to Blackpool this year.

It's sad indeed but it must happen. Everyone is crying for peace and then the Antichrist will bring a false peace to the Middle East. If there would be no wars or terror attacks, the seven year peace treaty wouldn't be "necessary". What group or religion in this world uses peace to deceive? "Islam means peace." But "by peace he shall deceive many". This is just the beginning and I believe these kind of attacks will even increase as the Day draws nearer.

To be honest though you aren't safe anywhere in the world, even London could be and has been a target. For me though Tunisia, Morocco and Turkey are definitely on my list of those to avoid. Popular among Brits but not worth the risk.

Hi Madparrotwoman!

I've read your Thread,
Yes me too I won't travel in Muslim Countries.
Too much dangerous for my security
and my neighbors' security too.
The Muslim's religion doesn't come from God
but from Satan, I don't want to judge them
but I prefer to not have any contact with them...
But I know that there are Arab people
who're Christians and not Muslim.

It's fine to have contact with non-christian persons. If we separated ourselves from all non-christian communities and persons, we would be practicing a cliched community, and thus, would be excluding others from fellowship and possible further fellowship in Christ.

Distancing oneself from a collective community fosters outlines of strife.

I agree with you to a certain extend, we have to live and work among non-Christians every day and that is fine but I wouldn't choose to holiday with a majority muslim population. To be fair the people of Tunisia were fantastic throughout, many helping save lives and even demonstrating en mass in the wake of the tragedy but you have to remember that they depend on British tourists for their work and overall economy, in short they need us, more than we need to go there.

For me personally, 'I prefer to stay at home' and focus on prayer
to celebrate God and to think about Lord Jesus only.

@MadParrotWoman --> post #18

If you understand the context behind my post, you would know that I'm referring to a specific statement voiced by practice-English, not the news story concerning the holiday tragedy. In other words, you point is irrelevant.
