Confederate flags found at US black church in Atlanta - BBC News

US police are investigating after four Confederate flags were found on the grounds of a church near the Martin Luther King Jr Center in Atlanta.

The flags, which were placed neatly on the ground, were discovered at about 06:00 local time (11:00 GMT) on Thursday by a maintenance worker.
No eyewitnesses have come forward yet but security camera footage of the area was being reviewed, police said.
The flag is very divisive in the US and seen as a symbol of slavery by critics.
Staff were disturbed when they came across the flags at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, according to the Reverend Shannon Jones.

This is what I keep trying to tell people. This is exactly what that flag is intended for. Racial intimidation

Sure, inflame a pet issue, perhaps the OB operatives planted them...but jump to your conclusions.

If you put a flag that I don't like in my yard, I'll pray for you, then hold a public flag burning ceremony. You'll run out of money before I run out of fire.

why are you so concerned with a flag. 150 years old war etc. its so ironic that england founded your nation. you have a history day that said 4 th july. yet now a nation without a founder. after this war. taking about walking on air. no offence, just a thought to how todays history is past. after all the family tree of the jewish, must give you a clue, why the living is still fighting for the dead(profound meaning)the point history good or bad we can change. its how to get today generation in the eternal plan.

Who cares about that silly flag? Some of us care that certain groups use it to race bait in our society and it seems certain members like to use this issue and other similar issues to cause strife and division on this forum over the issue of race. Its just ungodly to try to provoke race issues among believers.

see thats the difference, history is the marker to change. to human struggle to life before death. the joy of the holy bible, even if a human conquers death, you cant move off the planet. jesus christ did in a time with no airoplanesie (moved off the planet) or rockets etc. strange how science made a sat or rocket ship. or telescope . etc yet here we are talking about a flag, that mostly everyone knows the history to that flag. etc point when everyman is the same and equal then all mankind will be free. etc

Sad to see how much bad theology of Lennon has crept into today's "Christian" theology...

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

I have some thoughts on this...it is mighty easy saying that everybody knows the history to "that flag", but further reading is often revealing that the person saying this in fact dont know the history to "that flag". I've always been puzzled by the fact that folks from other places are the ones knowing all about a place they've never even visited. They "know" that the culture is bigoted, narrowminded, poor etc, and that most folks are flying "that flag" because they wanna intimidate others. People are ranting about the flag on here like it is some pestered piece of.... Why? Would any of yall like me to be ranting about your flag? Didn't think so. The war is still casting its shadows and jokes and sloppy descriptions are not appropriate. Why cant we just respect each other? That would have been nice as well.

hello tv. and the history of the north and south war. has been on the tv since the 1970 here. not to mention in the history books longer.

it not my country, that banned your flag. strange how your rant is directed to others , when its your own nation that has banned your flag. would be nice if you got your fact correct.

When is black America going to figure out the hysteria over flags and words (political correctness) is the battle cry of their real enemy, the liberal left and Democratic Party?

has anyone read the news topic. or just an other rant about the flag. question why would 4 flags be placed at this location.
ie could it be a warning of some kind. or has it got a reason to warn this location for some reason. the plot thickens.
glad to know, your all thinking outside the box on this, with your eyesight still fixed on a flag.
