Arby's apologizes after employee refuses to serve police officer

So when is this foolishness going to stop? Crickets from the president who has had plenty to say on every other issue in the public eye. Arbys has called the police and apologized. How nice.Refuse to bake a wedding cake for a gay couple and there is no end to media coverage. Refuse to serve a cop and silence from the media.Kind of odd wouldnt you say?

They shouldn't just apologize, they should offer free food to all officers in the entire nation for at least the remainder of the year.

Arbys sucks anyway.........maybe everyone should boycott for about a month and see how they like the financial loss and the employees who did not serve the cop should be fired!

Why boycott? It isn't an Arby's policy, it was a bottom level employee. So why punish a company because one of their low level employees, who probably won't last six months on the job to begin with, did something stupid? What lesson is that going to teach Arby's exactly?

and the agenda-driven media who only reports what pushes what they want continues. let this be a gay person who was not served, and it would be front page news.

Non-news story. Storm in teacup, some teenager with a grudge against the police for whatever reason, decides to carry on this hatred in his place of work, result was that manager ordered him to process this officers order, however the officer rightly returned the food as unsafe and had a refund, who knows what this 19 year old who hated cops could have slipped in the order. Arbys has apologised and will be making it clear about its inclusion policy to all staff.

This can not be compared with a business which openly states it is the policy of that business not to give a service to homosexuals.

Typical double standard. The president makes me sick and doesn't really care about justice or the US! He has shown his true colors on numerous occasions.

Nice idea, but most police departments wouldn't allow their officers to accept it.

That said, I know Arby's has promised "disciplinary action" against the employee. I want to know why the employee wasn't fired outright after the officer said she was no longer interested in eating the food.

An employee refused service to the cop.Then the manager came to the window and told the cop the employee had the right to refuse service to anyone. In KY they are raising hell over a woman refusing to give licences to gay married couples.The media is all over,people want her fired,and worse.She's been called a bigot and worse.But a cop hater should be able to keep her job and the manager that backed up that behavior? Naw I dont think so.

The manager backed up the employee and said she had the right to refuse service.They should both be fired.Like gb9 said if this was a gay person they'd have a heart attack.The media would be crawling all over it like the snakes they are.No,not fair.An apology means nothing.How do we know the employee wont spit in the food or worse when no manager is looking? Fire them both.

The man has every right to deny service to anyone he wants whether you like it or not. Either the man can refuse service to whom he wants or the man has to serve everyone regardless. Anything else is hypocrisy.

So if I dont believe in gay marriage I can not serve a gay couple? If I dislikes blacks or Jews,I dont have to serve them? Because the media sure as shootin think so. The lady in KY has refused to give marriage licences to gay couples because its against her beliefs,she's going to be fired because of it,and fined on top of that.Seems the courts disagree with you.
