Ezekiel 38:9-10 KJV[9] Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee. [10] Thus saith the Lord God ; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:
What is also interesting is that the invader from the North does not come up with his evil scheme to attack Israel until he is on his way or has already amassed troops...See vs. 10.

problem is right after the Rev 20 event is the White Throne Judgment whereas in Ezek 7 months are spent burying the dead.
Also in Rev 20 the armies com from the whole earth but in Ezek mainly from the North.
But it also says they will burn their weapons for 7 years in Ezekiel 39:9 "And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:"

I don't think Russia is coming with bows, arrows, handstaves and spears either. LOL! :)

But I do believe in dual prophecies, like history repeating itself. Even in scripture the Lord confirms the same....Ecclesiastes 3:15
That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

So it could that the battle of Armageddon prior to the millennium will be a reflection of the battle of Gog and Magog after the millennium.

Revelation 16:13-16
[SUP]13 [/SUP]And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
[SUP]14 [/SUP]For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
[SUP]16 [/SUP]And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

It honestly is quite offencive for me, as I live here. This country is not as bad as you think, and Russia has no interest in invading Syria, but it must protect its borders, because terrorists of the IS claimed they're going to invade Russia from its most unstable region, the North Caucasus.
Putin is ex KGB, and he still acts like that!

His worst actions are yet still future!

Has it occurred to you that when Ezekiel had his vision, he had no clue what artillery, tanks, aircraft, napalm, man-portable rocket launchers, even nuclear weapons, looked like? He spoke as literally as he could given he could not understand what he was seeing. "Shields and bucklers" could easily be body armor and bayonets. "Bows and arrows" could just as easily be launchers and rockets. A "war club" could be a rifle. "Spears" could be rockets. We're talking a six-century BC prophet, after all.

"Make fires" is actually the Hebrew r[b (ba'ar) meaning "kindle, burn, consume." That doesn't necessarily mean "build a fire," it can simply mean having a fire. If the hand of God knocks down nuclear-tipped warheads without allowing them to detonate, there is a very real likelihood the people of Israel could use the nuclear fuel to fire their nuclear reactors for a few months.

You're trying to make the English stand by itself. You need to research the Hebrew, because it doesn't say what you think it says.

Your the one trying to reword scripture with your own words, I posted what God ACTUALLY said by Ezekiel. VW's interpretation and rewording of what God ACTUALLY said by Ezekiel means nothing to me. LOL :)

ISIS has provided Russia with a Fig Leaf of an excuse to help prop up Assads evil regime. Nato and the west in general were
condemned by the rest of the world over Iraq and Libya so why would they send troops to Syria? In any case it was Russia that blocked the UN resolution at the start of Assads murderous assault on his own people. The government of Iraq does not seem to have the gumption to defend its own country and relies on NATO war planes to do it for them. As for the refugee crises in Europe well apart from Turkey, Jordon and Lebanon no other middle eastern country has lifted a finger to help tham so far.

And why am I not suprised you make an accusation wrapped in an excuse rather than answering intellectually?

Nor am I surprised that you deny the importance of the original languages, or allege the actual, literal meaning is "rewording." This is why I gave up even trying to reason with you weeks ago, and am now kicking myself for trying to do so now.

These are good points, but Assad still is the head of Syria and his main enemy is the Islamic State. Assad is getting closer to falling with every passing day. Russia has been a longtime ally with Assad. Even if Russia is just using Syria in a game of Cold War imperialism, they still have a legitimate interest in trying to prevent the conquest of Syria by islam. I get how some especially in USA or UK are frightened over the Russian resurgence, indeed we must be wary of Putin. However, Islamic State is a bigger threat right now than Russia. Russia and USA have enough firepower to reset civilization. Islamic State though has an uncanny ability to take over and thrive where civilization has been reset. Once the Islamic State takes over an area they've proven very hard to uproot.

I don't deny the importance of what God actually said, what I deny is the importance of your own interpretation and rewording of what God actually said. LOL! And try not to beat up yourself too much, leave some for others :)

Such a lie. What the original languages said is what God said. You can't deal with that, that's your problem. All I did was conceive of how a sixth-century BC prophet would describe what he saw in a 21st or 22nd century world. You're a fool if you think he wouldn't struggle with an adequate interpretation.

What you fail to understand is what I posted was the words of God, not a 6th century BC prophet struggling to describe what he saw. Take notice....

Ezekiel 39 "Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:"

Your own words and interpretation does not trump what the LORD GOD ACTUALLY SAID! Clearly you are the one who is struggling. :)

Update......Russia starts air strikes in Syria but US not too happy with targets.

Russia starts air strikes in Syria, tells U.S. to steer clear

Seems the US has a double standard when fighting "terrorists", they allow Turkey to bomb the Kurds who do fight ISIS, but they criticize Russia for bombing militants who Russia says is ISIS. LOL! There seems to be a conflict of interests going on behind this cloak of fighting "terrorists" in Syria and surrounding areas. But the conflict does seem to be drawing in all the major "players" from around the globe for perhaps something much bigger?

Why is it not good? They're killing jihadists. Syria is Russia's ally; has been for decades. Just makes sense for them to stand by Syria.

Update:
Oh, I just read further down. You mean 'not good' in terms of what this could lead to?

It's beginning to remind me of what Thucydides said about the Peloponnesian War- theoretically preventable but, to those involved, inevitable.

Although it appears that Fama may have the upper hand here.
