I'm listening to this tragic story on Fox News right now. They said the shooter was asking people what religion they were. I'm assuming their answers determined who he would shoot?
I heard that happened at the Columbine shootings at least to a young female student back in the 90's. I believe this is the second biggest school shooting in Oregon since the Thurston shootings happened in Springfield where the young man killed his parents before heading off to school. It is truly sad, but it makes you appreciate and be appreciative of what is most important in your life for sure

There is no official collaboration of this Twitter post, but it is a screen grab just posted on Fox -- I got the actual post off the Twitter account itself -- detailing the chilling story behind those vague statements.

That is truly disturbing. It sounds exactly like Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris, the Columbine shooters who put Rachel Scott and Cassie Bernall in the modern-day "hall of fame of faith by refusing to renounce Christ with a loaded gun to their heads.

Amen to that....you know the left wing liberal whack jobs will use this to further their ability to try and disarm the ones who legally carry and or abide by the law....You know...I have been around guns my whole life..have 7 myself and about 5000 rounds of ammo and have never shot anyone, thought about killing anyone and or used one illegally.....I freely admit to whacking about 100 deer, a few hundred quail, doves, rabbits and squirrels and every one of them were used to feed me, friends and or poor people who needed the food!

... as I read this, our moron-in-chief is making political hay out of 13 or more dead people, many of whose families don't even know their child or loved one isn't coming home tonight. And thus far, he's made the same ignorant point four times in seven minutes, plus threats to do "something" ...

.... probably get out that dreaded pen and phone again. And now he closes with the piously audacity to appeal to God on the victim's behalf. I think I'm gonna puke.

jsr, I know you're not posting to me, but I want to point out, I only made the comment to you and it was seen by the few who read it. Your idiot president is "preaching" (badly) to 319 million Americans for purely (ignorant) political reasons. Way to go, Dems and libs. Have a cold on one me ...

... you intellectually challenged pods.

perhaps better security on school campuses would be prudent... maybe security should be just like it is and a prison... you have to walk through two guarded and locked doors just to get into the building. you have to walk to a metal detector and most present an ID..no ID, no entry

I just got an alert on my phone as I live about an hour and a half away from where the shooting occurred and the death toll has been confirmed with ten and seven critically injured

Chris Harper Mercer. Add that name to the mass murderer list.

College campuses are no gun zones usually. Probably why no one could stop him before all this tragedy.

That is correct. New law allows pepper spray even for the kids.

I read that in Oregon, they are not allowed to make campuses no gun zones. I also read the shooter was asking if they were Christians, shooting the ones in the head who said yes, and the legs of the ones who said no. Only time will tell if this was a rumour.

I love Oregon. I lived there for 2 years when I was young. I will be praying for the families and the students who have been so dramatically affected by this mass murder, with guns!

Source: Oregon gunman singled out Christians during rampage | New York Post

The gunman who opened fire at an Oregon community college was forcing people to stand up and state their religion before he began blasting away at them, survivors said Thursday.
A woman who claimed to have a grandmother inside a writing class in Snyder Hall, where a portion the massacre unfolded, described the scene in a tweet.
“The shooter was lining people up and asking if they were Christian,” she wrote. “If they said yes, then they were shot in the head. If they said no, or didn’t answer, they were shot in the legs. My grandma just got to my house, and she was in the room. She wasn’t shot, but she is very upset.

Kortney Moore, an 18-year-old student at Umpqua Community College who was also in the room, told Oregon’s News Review that the shooter was indeed on the hunt for Christians.
Moments after hearing a bullet come flying through a window, she said the 20-year-old shooter made his way inside and targeted their teacher, pumping a single round into their head.
As the young man ordered people to the ground, Moore laid patiently with her classmates and waited, according to the News Review.
Once they all got down, she said the gunman began asking people to rise and say what their religion was. After they stood and gave their answer, he started shooting.
As the chaos continued, students began scrambling “like ants,” according to Brady Winder, a 23-year-old student from Portland who was in the room next door.
“People (were) screaming, ‘get out!,” he told NRToday, adding that he witnessed a girl frantically swimming across a nearby creek to escape.

She said that when her class heard the noise again, her teacher went to see if everything was all right. Minutes later, shots rang out repeatedly and they all fled, leaving their belongings behind.
Jared Norman, a nursing student, was locked down in the cafeteria with 50 other students when he heard gunfire — which prompted a mass panic, he said, with his voice trembling.
UCC Foundation Executive Director Dennis O’Neill was also on campus during the shooting and said him and other school officials were running around and securing classrooms as the gunman made his way through Snyder Hall.
“We locked our door and I went out to lock up the rest rooms and could hear four shots from the front of campus,” he recalled.
Christian Bringhurst, a teacher at nearby Camas Valley Elementary School, said his daughter Justine was also on campus at time of shooting and was safely evacuated.
“It’s awful. The uncertainty of what is going on is tough to deal with,’ he explained. “We have a dozen (Camas Valley) kids going to school out there. Trying to find out who is there and make sure everybody is OK. Our hearts going out to the victims.”
At around noon, officials sent out an automated phone call to parents at Roseburg School District, which referenced the shooting and assured the school was safe.
Sometime later, students’ cell phones were confiscated and they were escorted out of their buildings with their hands up as authorities patted them down and lined them up to be evacuated on buses, according to NRToday.
Around 200 people were estimated to be waiting at the Douglas County Fairgrounds to pick up the students. Red Cross grief counselors were also on hand to provide care to anyone who needed it.

Prayers for the family members, they need the LORD to comfort them at this moment.

Cue the liberals to trot out the anti-gun rhetoric. The day they can prove the gun planned the shooting, they'll have a point. Until then, put a sock in it.
While I totally understand and respect your right to own firearms at some point we have to question why there aren't almost monthly mass shootings like this in other first world nations. Should anyone ever take your guns away? No. Should we maybe look into making it harder for some people to obtain guns, yess. Clearly there is a flaw in our system. Too many unstable people are getting their hands on guns they dont need to be having. And yeah you can use the argument that criminals get guns illegally. Yeah but do you think these whitebread kids are going to take the chance going into the areas you need to go into to illegally obtain firearms? There isn't some shady guy on the corner of main street in beaver cleaver-ville handing out guns to teenagers. They aren't hardened thugs who would know where to get a gun on the black market outside of trying some hare-brained web site scheme.

Let me repeat even though it will do no good because some people will jump on one sentence and rant: Most gun owners(especially ones that enjoy the 2nd amendment) are perfectly sane and responsible gun owners and no one should touch their firearms. But something should be done about these nutjobs having such easy access.

Nah...something needs to be done about people who have kids that shouldn't.

all "gun control" does is make it harder for the good people from having firearms, that is all it has ever done.
truth be told I can get a RPG right here in the USA on the black market easier then going and getting a firearm from a gun shop.

And you think these messed up kids doing the majorities of shootings share your knowledge of illegal firearm acquisition? These people are mostly incapable of making friends. They are probably too scared to go into a bad nieghborhood and too poor or dumb to find the black market connections.

It is so sad to hear about a tragedy so close to home. I was in my writing class when the instructor got word of this and some of the staff is taking this hard because in their mind they are playing the what if scenario. Yes please be praying for everyone involved in this event.
I thought about you right away when I heard about it since it happened in Oregon. I'm glad it wasn't your school, although I wish it hadn't been any school. :(

Okay... How can he be my idiot president if I didn't vote for him? In case you don't know basic math... I was 17 at the time when he first took office. Hence, I wasn't eligible to vote... In 2012, I wasn't registered even though I was old enough to vote. Because I simply just didn't care about politics, and felt all politicans are crooks. I've never voted once in my life. Can you explain how that makes me a liberal? Can you explain how I'm a liberal if I think majority of politicians in general are crooks? I'd really like to know how I'm a liberal if I've never voted nor am I a registered democrat or republican.

Brother Viligant it saddens me how you would make such accusations, assumptions, and call me names, when you know nothing about me, nor have you even attemtped to know anything about me. That is not Christlike behavior on your part. Luke 6:31 do to others as you would have done to you. I doubt you'd like having the same thing done to you. And in the case you somehow do, you'll need to find someone else.. Cause that is no way to treat your younger brother in Christ. I get you hate Obama. But don't accuse people of being a liberal simply because a person asks why turn a tragedy into politics? At the end of the day, Jesus loves both Democrats and Republicans. There are and will be members of both political parties in Heaven. Just some food for thought.
