Amid unrest, Jerusalem mayor urges residents to carry guns

JERUSALEM (AP) — An Arab attacker stabbed four Israelis with a screwdriver on Thursday before a soldier shot and killed him amid fresh violence that prompted Israel’s premier to bar Cabinet ministers and lawmakers from a sensitive Jerusalem holy site at the heart of the latest tensions.

The attack in Tel Aviv was among three new stabbings on Thursday that left several people wounded. A series of similar attacks in recent days, carried out mainly by young people with no known links to armed groups, have shocked Israelis and raised fears of a new uprising.
Problem is, palestinians have guns too.

Let's see... Jerusalem is in Israel. All Israelis have to do military service. Urgo... ummm, don't all Israelis carry guns already?
I thought that they alresdy did. I'm amazed that they don't. I went there on holiday some years ago and their Army
do. Large mean looking ones.

Apparantly not, maybe the gun control advocates got their first. They have to be licensed at least. lol

Owning a gun in Israel is a privillage not a right. members of certain elite armed forces or secuirty guards can now take guns home with them. Citizens living in areas deemed to be at risk, such as Jeruslem are allowed to apply for gun owner ship,

criteria include that the applicant be over 21, an Israeli resident for more than three years, have passed a mental and physical health exam, background checks by the Public Security Ministry and shooting exams and courses at a licensed gun range. If given a permit, the holder is allowed to order a single firearm with a one-time supply of 50 bullets from a licensed dealer. He is required to retake the licensing exam and undergo testing at a gun range every three years. He also has to prove he has a safe at home to store the gun.

I thought it was a good idea to ask those who can carry to carry. I heard that many attacks in Israel are often stopped by citizens with guns. I would call that good thinking, yeah :p Im sure 99.9% of those Israelis who have guns have no desire to use them :p Having them when you need it is a good idea yeah.

Perhaps the mayor was inspired by the laws of Massachusetts Bay...

It's becoming "A Day in the Life" in Israel..

Palestinian knives out in Jerusalem ahead of Israeli Arab general strike

The Palestinian knifing spree in Jerusalem Monday, Oct. 12, the day after an Israeli Arab from Umm al-Fham mowed down, then knifed, four Israelis in central Israel, puts the Palestinians on the same bloody course as Israeli Arabs, who launched an anti-Israel general strike Tuesday.
The day began at the Lions Gate, Border Guards police stopped a Palestinian who acted suspiciously. He pulled out a knife and stabbed one of the police men. The blade glanced off his body armor and the terrorist was shot dead.
At noon, a female terrorist inflicted moderate injuries on another two Border Guards officers opposite National Police Headquarters in northern Jerusalem. She was stopped by gun shots and seriously hurt.
A short time later, further north at Pisgat Zeev, two terrorists worked a street in tandem. They knocked a 13-year old Israeli boy off his bike and stabbed him. He is fighting for his life at Hadassah hospital on Mt. Scopus. The terrorist’s partner attacked a second Israeli, inflicting major knife wounds. Police at the scene stopped the rampage by shooting. One was killed.

while Russia, China, Europe, Japan are arming to the teeth and increasing Military spending,
we are 'de-creasing' military spending.....

it sounds 'political', but it is Prophetic....

as the worldly poet said,
'Where have you been my blue-eyed son?
and where have you been my darling young one?
I've been ten thousand miles in the mouth of a grave yard,
and a hard-rain is gonna fall.'

I had a vision of sorts of that hard rain during the 1973 Israeli-Arab war (when I was coming around to know the Lord). Hail mixed with fire.

Through all the blood spilt in and around Jerusalem these recent days here is one of the latest fomenters who should be held accountable...

Nasrallah hails Palestinian youth fighting Israel | i24news - See beyond

This new intifada is the only hope the Palestinians have of ending the (Israeli) occupation...Today we are seeing a new generation who is willing to sacrifice their lives for Jerusalem, and use knives to fight,” Nasrallah said during a ceremony marking the death of Hezbollah fighter Hassan Muhammad al-Hajj, in the village of Al-Louaizi in South Lebanon’s Jezzine province, The Daily Star reported.-Nasrallah
