Obama reportedly considering executive action on gun control

As President Obama visited the community rocked by last week's Oregon college shooting Friday, the president was reportedly considering executive action on gun background checks -- after he called for Americans to turn gun control into a political issue in the wake of the shooting.

Obama met Friday with survivors and families of those killed in the attack at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Ore. The gunman killed nine before killing himself.

"I've got some very strong feelings about this, because when you talk to these families, you are reminded that this could be happening to your child, or your mom, or your dad, or your relative, or your friend," Obama said at the end of his visit.
Most of the families refused to be used by the clown-in-chief, and declined last-minute invitations to meet behind closed doors with Odumba. That doesn't, apparently, stop him from considering a grand-standing end-around of the Constitution. Yet again.

As if it is not already out there with Gun confiscation. Guns Dont Kill People. People kill people. What is more sad is that with how this world is turning out to be and what it is that may came alot of people are not going to protect themselves. For Example The husband and I took a Carry Concealed class . Paid for class then took Application to our Sherriff Department along with $65.00 The class cost $75.00 A piece. I turned my in They finger printed me and I have yet to hear from them if im an a ok or not. That was 3 weeks ago. Sheriff Deputy also commented that Those who need them cant get them and those who shouldnt have them are getting the lisence . Whats Fair about that?

This is a concern for me for my daughter. Or future children i may have. Thank God i have 18 years before she is off to college and hopefully and praying that when that time does come. A God change has happened.! Or I can get her to go to one closer to home. Either way she will have her own choices. As A mother I will Not cease to Pray for her or all other parents.! Along for thee Children( Consider That at that age they still are).

It already happened. The media/gov tries to scare people into holding onto their guns so much that people totally overlooked that the reason why people wanted to hold onto their guns has already come and defeated us. What rights do people truly have nowadays that can't be instantly overruled by the stroke of a pen? You have no rights. No constitutional document to protect you.

Now we just have our guns to protect the freedom that we don't have.

The interesting thing about the gun debate is that it's not so much about guns. It's about how people think. I came to this conclusion when I asked myself why there were little to no school shootings when my parents were children/teens. People still had guns...

What's different about today? I think the ultimate reason for gun violence is the moral decay of society. When people can't tell what's right or wrong, when families are whatever you feel like, when doing what makes you feel good is a big motto for today's youth, all that is left in its stead is anger, confusion and religious ambiguity.

The man who shot students at Umpqua Community College in Oregon shot Christians, he was heard to ask students who were Christians to stand up. Then Obama has the gall to get uppity about this...like it's guns and gun owners that are responsible for this atrocity. No, it's you and every liberal media funded institution (colleges I'm looking at you) that tell people that Christians are horrible bigots who are a stain on our society that should feel ashamed. You teach others that we don't even matter and you make us one of the few groups its okay to deny of rights and openly discriminate against.

That's my two cents anyway.

I'm not an Obama fan but he isn't trying to take guns away, he just wants more throughout background checks.

Well Christians are privileged, you see.

Its okay to hate a group of people, as long as we call them privileged.

This is the thing though, you cannot get more thorough than they currently are. All background checks are run through NCIC which (for those who don't know) is a federal database that all felony (and some misdemeanor) warrants, arrests and convictions are reported to.

The major loophole in the current system is that although it is illegal for mentally unstable persons to purchase firearms there is no way to track those persons due to patient privacy laws.

I believe everyone should have the right to arm themselves but there are so many X factors on this issue. How many people are willing to actually pulled the trigger should the need arise? If you hesitate long enough someone will take the gun from you and kill you with it. Can they keep their cool and be calm enough to hit their intended target?.. is there a chance that the bullet pass through the intended target and continue onward, hitting an innocent bystander? Are there people who will pull the trigger at the slightest provocation?... someone breaks into your house, you shoot him with your assault rifle timer, the bullet go through your target, through the wall and into your sleeping neighbor on the other side of the wall.,. Maybe the solution is in stricter penalties for gun crimes.
