Michigan trooper kills man who struck deputy with crossbow
A Michigan man has been shot and killed by a state trooper after the man struck a sheriff’s deputy with a crossbow, Michigan State Police said. The deputy, a member of the Montcalm County Sheriff's Department, was airlifted to a Grand Rapids hospital where he was listed in stable condition, Fox 17 reported Saturday.
The deputy, the trooper and a Lakeview officer were attempting to execute a warrant at the man’s Cato Township home late Friday, officials said. The officials said the man, 40, shot at the officers with a crossbow and hit the deputy. The state trooper then shot at the man, striking him at least once. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
