This commercial add of the german supermarket chain Edeka has a clear message.
But does it go too far? Judge for yourself.

Sadly true.I don't think it goes to far at all. It makes you stop and think, hopefully. People are too busy with being busy these days. No one stops to think about what really matters.

It certainly makes the point, and also holds with Scripture........none of us are promised tomorrow..........

Don't have a link to it, but I am more upset with a K-Mart Christmas ad I saw last week. It shows a young boy coming down stairs to the Christmas tree, and a package begins to lift up and fly around the room. Yes, we will all guess it is a toy drone. The boy watches the package for a few seconds, and then exclaims........... "What the ........" and then the commercial breaks to a store and a woman's voice saying "Attention K-Mart shoppers......"

The "......." part is mouthed by the boy.........This is a Christmas ad? Seriously?

Then, Sunday, I saw a Campbell's Soup ad showing two men and a boy sitting at a table. One man is feeding the boy "Noodle O's" and saying........... "I am your father" pretending Darth Vader. Then the other man picks up a spoon, feeds the boy and says....... "No, I am your father......."

While subtle, the message is clear. Two men and a boy is now an acceptable family unit.

Love it.....it made me cry. Desperate times require desperate measures I guess.

I wonder what people do with all the free time they save by typing Xmas instead of Christmas

Hi Didymos, it would be interesting to see just how many families actually
do the whole family get togethers and whether it is practical
to do so.

There are so many multiple families/step families etc.
Then every time a couple gets together there is the age old question
of whose parents to visit on Christmas Day, whose on New Year's Day.
Then there are increasing work commitment.

Not to mention the issue of space. Not sure what it is like in your part of
the world, but the average house in the UK would not have a dining room
or kitchen big enough to squeeze 10 people around a table.

I'm not sure the big family gathering are practical or possible for a lot
of people and even if they are, it does not necessarily mean Jesus is
part of the celebrations.

It is sad though to think of people being on their own at Christmas,
especially elderly people. I suspect too much of that goes on.
