Scammers specifically target christian websites to "suck the life out of " people.

Hi all ,
This may be old news to you , but I found it interesting to find out that christians are specifically targeted by scammers ....two out of 3 victims are lonely women looking for a partner which makes it extremely cruel and approximately 4.5 million from the Australian state of Queensland alone is sent to places like Nigeria. Please warn those you know about this problem as they trawl social networking websites too.

It has become easier over the years to scam people because people are too liberal with their personal information over the internet. So that is something to bear in mind.

Here is the full article:

Thou shalt not fleece: 'cruel' scammers target Christians

I can't count how many emails I got from Nigeria declaring I have 2 million in my name sitting in a Nigerian bank.
All I have to do is give them some 'basic' info and I'm good to go.

They might be a wee bit convincing if their writing was above 3rd grade English.

I have had two letters and my wife has had one mobile phone call from some outfit claiming I have been selected to participate in a two million Australian Dollar lottery, Ive never heard of. All I need is to send them ten pounds for this 'wonderful opportunity'. It doesnt sound much but imagine what a big cash haul they could be getting from around the world if people swallow this scam. Needless to say both letters went in the bin.

Mhm--- I am getting a bit tired of the ones joining cc with gofundme links----
And if we call them at it they get all angry :p

I was once writing back and forth with a REALLY patient guy for a year before he started trying to get money from me.

The sad thing is this is why CC prohibits users from soliciting and we routinely get blasted for being un-Christian because of that policy.

I'm sure there are a percentage of gofundme and India/Pakistani ministry posters that are legit but no one on staff here has the time to try to weed out the scammers from the legit.
