Yes that political battle will soon come in time and that is a big one as Scalia was probably the most conservative judge on the Supreme Court. That will be a big battle for another day indeed for who to replace him.

For now though praise Jesus and may Scalia's family be comforted.

I hope they investigate his death and I too have compassion for him but the job he held and who replaces him are the biggest issue facing our nation now.

Everything that I've read is that his death was (at least preliminarily) ruled natural causes.

It is definitely a sad day for conservative constitutionalists since his replacement will be appointed by Obummer. No doubt it will be another radically liberal revisionist.

Hearing some chatter on the web that folks claim for sure he was killed...but of course that's internet chatter

We still have Clarence Thomas as a staunch constitutionalist....
But with the new appointee, if it's a liberal revisionist, we'll now have 5 Obama style liberals on the SCOTUS... 5/4.

And one of the four is a wild cannon.

Nightmare scenario #1: The nomination for SCJUS gets stalled. Clinton wins POTUS. Clinton nominates Obama for SCJUS and gets confirmed!

My first thought was that this will be the most important election that any Christian will vote in. The values of this country will be shaped for generations.

I'm not as optimistic.
I see if the conservatives win the decline will be slowed and if Hillary or Bernie wins the decline will be accelerated; either way spells decline.
Our only hope is a true God created revival.

There will be at least two more Judges that will retire or die during the next presidential term. Three young Christian appointees will make a huge difference. It could be a beginning of a revival.

If what I read here is any indication, and what I see on the News.............Christians are not even considering their Faith, they are simply giving in to the anger, resentment and hatred that some of the Candidates are espousing. So, I don't hold out any hope for a meaningful appointment no matter who is in the Oval Office.

Scalia found dead with ‘pillow over his head’

AND NO AUTOPSY...

It then took hours for authorities in remote West Texas to find a justice of the peace, officials said Sunday. When they did, she pronounced Scalia dead of natural causes without seeing the body and decided not to order an autopsy. A second justice of the peace, who was called but couldn’t get to Scalia’s body in time, said she would have ordered an autopsy. As late as Sunday afternoon, there were conflicting reports about whether an autopsy would be performed, though officials later said Scalia’s body was being embalmed and there would be no autopsy. One report, by WFAA-TV in Dallas, sad the death certificate would show the cause of the death was a heart attack.
I SMELL A CLINTON.

You mean like Bush and Rubio who caved on gay marriage?

i don't think the white house shapes the morals of the American people. it might reflect it, but it doesn't create it.
the American people will continue in their moral decline no matter who is president.

the American people will continue in their moral decline no matter who is president.

politicians enact & enforce laws. but we know that the law is powerless to change human spirit (Romans 8:3-4, Colossians 2:23, etc).

i feel like when people say "o if a liberal politician is elected then the country's values will go down the tubes" they are just making excuses. just think, abortion is legal - did that change your heart into a murderer? gay marriage is legal - did that change your heart into a sexual deviant? no, of course it didn't. and these secular regulations came to be because they agree with the secular morals of the majority of this secular nation. morals and ethics that existed before the laws were ever even suggested. morality isn't legislated. God changes hearts; laws don't do that.

Obama will appoint a new supreme court justice. that is what the constitution says he must do. the R party will fight it and try to stall it, because suddenly the constitution isn't so important to them anymore. that's their character. they are worldly, and care only for their own power, just like the D party, no matter how they would like Christians to think that they are the hope & salvation of the nation. they are not. Christ is our only hope, and our only salvation - and His kingdom is not of the world.

it is apparently God's will that this should happen now -- and though i may be sad for how the secular nation that i am a citizen of lives as a whole, the moral character of this secular nation is not "my hope" -- my hope is secure, in the Kingdom of God, where my true citizenship is.

What ever happened to respect for the family of the deceased? This poor man is not even buried and the family is in grief and the politicians are lining up to pick his bones.

This would be a good time to pray for our country and beg God for mercy.
