I had been thinking that the USA needed a President Josiah and maybe Ted Cruz could be like King Josiah. Josiah stopped the baby-murder in the Valley of Hinnom, passing through the fire to Molech thing. He also got rid of the Sodomites at the temple, probably male prostitutes there. Similarly the USA has been murdering its babies and promoting sodomy, especially with our idolatrous priests (as it were) in the SCOTUS.

But then I had the thought that maybe the Lord is going to give us a President Jehu, like King Jehu of Israel in 2 Kings 9-10, who exterminated Baal worship in Israel. Jehu was a butcher, and Jehu had real short comings; Jehu did not stop the idolatrous worship at Dan & Bethel, which I think involved golden calves, but was considered also worship of YHWH. To me the stories about Elijah-Elisha-Jehu, which start at 1 Kings 17 & go on into 2 Kings, these stories are the most entertaining stories of the Bible, with lots of black humor. I think of Jehu as a profane man, who nonetheless was used by YHWH to exterminate Baal, particularly introduced & advanced by Ahab's wife, Jezebel, & continued with Ahab's sons. Jehu began a new dynasty. Jehu had been a general under Ahab & after Ahab (times of Ahaziah & Joram of Israel, whom Jehu killed).

Could Donald Trump be our Jehu??? I note that these comparisons have occurred to others as you find by searching with Google (also comparisons with Archie Bunker & Hitler -- which is a bit extreme).

Daniel 4:17 tells it like it is, how the Lord is in charge of who gets set on the throne -- & YHWH puts on the throne really low-life rulers including Nero & Hitler (as a rule I take it, with some exceptions).

Imagine a figurative King Jehu, who figuratively slaughters the American priests of Baal? He might come to power with a strong majority in Congress; then proceed figuratively to slaughter our priests (appointed judges who have been legislating from the bench, instituting baby-murder & promoting men lying with men). Imagine wholesale impeachment of federal judges from the lower courts up through the Supreme Court -- throw the lot out of office & appoint honest judges who will not legislate from the bench & no longer invent sodomist rights & the right to murder babies.

Could Donald Trump be our Jehu???
I have no confidence that Trump would do that; but he looks like a man who could if he set his heart to the task.
Meanwhile, I vote for Cruz, wanting a Josiah, not that he will be that good necessarily; but I have hope in the midst of pessimism.

Kings is my favorite books of the Old Testament as well. Lol Cruz is not Josiah, Cruz is a foreign born vassal of the British Empire, so he'd be more like the Herodians. Very perfidious also.

I do kinda get your sentiment on Trump though due to his hardline approach, but I think he's a little too bold to be Jehu whom destroyed the temple of baal by subtlety. I'd see Trump more like Ahaz, possible former umbranati elite turned around, or if he's rather like Asa, strict but trusts the doctors too much.

Lol since we're doing Kings metaphors, I'll vote Kasich, he's Jehoshaphat. A good and uniting figure, very open to counsel, but his only drawback is he will ally himself with the house of Ahab and the Edomites to fight the Moabites.

Not sure where little Marco fits in here. Lol maybe he's our Josiah metaphor since he's the young guy and is kind of a puppet and will have to be guided by a Jehoiada.

Of course mindful these are just metaphors. In America the president is not a leader or a king, but rather a slave. The self-aware citizen is the legal secular king of America, but if you really think about it Jesus is the real king and so all the good kings in the world are but knights.

GIS, that seems a strange theory to me. U really think that the British Empire still exists??? Perfidious? He seems to me quite sincere & faithful to his campaign promises. As I see the Herodians, they were playing up to Herod, trying to be on his good side. But Cruz doesn't play up to the powers that be, but defies them for sake of his principles & campaign promises.

Well good point on Jehu using subtlety. However, much of what he did seems rather brash to me. Up & killing 2 kings, then having Jezebel thrown out the window (splat!).

Kasich has had a lot of experience. For me his drawback is that he allows baby-murder if the mother was raped. Jehoshaphat was in some ways a great man of God, but he compromised by making an alliance with Ahab of Israel -- perhaps he thought he could reunite the split kingdoms to the House of David. So Jehoshaphat married his son to the daughter of Jezebel, Athaliah, bringing Baal worship to Judah & nearly exterminating the House of David, when she decided to be Queen-King.

I think you confuse Joash of Judah with Josiah. Josiah was much later in history. After Josiah died in 609 BC, it was only ~ 3 years to 606 & the first stage of the Babylonian captivity, when Daniel & his companions were taken to Babylon. By ~ 586, the city of Jerusalem fell & the Temple was destroyed with the last stage begun of the captivity. So Josiah saw a revival, but it was like a last gasp of life before the end.

It is a nice theory that we the people are the government. Does Obama know this? Does he think of himself as a slave?

but if you really think about it Jesus is the real king
Amen! Who is a good king or ruler in our present world, whom you would call a knight?

Cruz is the biggest phony "Christian" poser to come along in years. He truly is a snake in the grass, and Trump calls it right when he tags him a blatant liar.

Now that's strong language, & it sounds like the sin of judging to me. What is your proof that Cruz is a phony, a pozer, a snake, a blatant liar? He seems to be faithful to his campaign pledges. I think that the ones who called Cruz a liar, were lying.

As I understand it, CNN put out a blurb -- then someone in Cruz' campaign (not Cruz) either jumped to conclusions or misrepresented the implication of that blurb, as if it meant that Carson was dropping out of the contest.

Cruz is not lying when someone else lies to benefit Cruz. I haven't seen any proof of lying, though who has not told a lie? Now what do you call it when a candidate says the the illegal Mexicans are rapists?
