Prince has died aged 57 at his estate in Minnesota after passing out in an elevator. Paramedics were called to his Paisley Park studio at 9:43 Thursday morning. Forensics teams and a medical examiner are at the scene now. Prince was hospitalized six days ago with flu symptoms after his private jet made an emergency landing in Illinois on Friday morning. He had had been suffering from flu for a number of weeks and was believed to be recovering, but took a turn for the worse in the early hours of Friday. He was treated for three hours before being released, then went onto make an appearance at a dance party in Minnesota on Saturday where he didn't perform, but did take to the stage to tell fans who were worried about his health to 'wait a few days before you waste any prayers'. The Purple Rain hitmaker's last concert was at The Fox Theatre in Atlanta on last Thursday night - the second of two back to back sold out shows - and had seemed 'fine' during the concert, according to audience members. But he apparently made several trips to a Walgreen's pharmacy in the days before his death and is said to have appeared more 'frail and nervous' than usual on a visit to the store last night.

I felt like I was kicked in the gut when I heard Prince died. Then I read he was a Jehovah's Witness and my gut sunk even lower. May God have mercy.

Oh well the Prince ride is over. Let him take all of his worldly self glorifying and impress GOD with it. Thank GOD. May it all come to an end.

God had mercy on him the whole time he was living and God was waiting for him to answer the call. Now Prince will face God on his own merits. :( God is sovereign.

Just like alot of the pop stars who walked right into the occult with their eyes wide open. Many have commented on their counter personality that performs. In a nut shell, they worship satan(they think he is still lucifer though). Its a sad fact but very true.

I remember a girlfriend taking me to see Purple Rain. He was quite popular. I obsessed on music growing up, especially alternative music and post-punk, new wave, and 80's and 90's alt-rock. But I never understood the music of Prince. Never cared for it or for him. He reminds me of David Bowie, who's music I enjoyed, and Freddie Mercury, who's music I also enjoyed. They didn't feel comfortable telling people about their sexual preference, despite knowing they would sell millions of records even if they did discuss homosexual lifestyles. I doubt he spent much time in local Kingdom Halls, either. I don't recall the final days of Freddie Mercury, if they were similar to Prince. His "flu-like" symptoms may be a result of his immune system shutting down.

I often watch "The Five" in the afternoons, on Fox. Today, they covered the Prince death. Greg Gutfeld was not on the show today and someone else sat in for him. I know the music Greg likes and I would bet he refused to be on the show today unless they allowed him to say he was not a fan of Prince. The five people who were there, all said very positive things about Prince and his music. Sort of how people spoke well of Michael Jackson when he died. The usual God Bless him and the band in heaven just got better sort of comments from unbelievers who feel God's standard for heaven is how well you sing or play guitar.

Can you provide a link that verifies this?

He was such a private man that I don't recall his religious beliefs ever being discussed, at least not by him, directly.

Prince Dead at 57: A Look at His Faith

http://www.hallels.com/articles/15210/20160421/prince-dead-at-57-a-look-at-his-faith.htm

As far as faith goes, Prince was a Jehovah's Witness. "I'm a Jehovah's Witness. I'm trying to learn the Bible. It's a history book, a science book, a guidebook. It's all the same."
Prince's understanding of religion requires him to avoid political stands, including those that concern morality. "I have friends that are gay, and we study the Bible together," he said. He did not vote for Proposition 8, the referendum to make gay marriage illegal. "I don't vote," he said. "I didn't vote for Barack [Obama], either; I've never voted. Jehovah's Witnesses haven't voted for their whole inception."

Prince, who became a Jehovah's Witness in 2001 under the guidance of veteran bassist and songwriter Larry Graham. He views everything through the lens of his religion. No topic -- sexuality, civil rights, his disdain for corporate pop -- comes up in which it doesn't play a role. Recounting a recent meeting with Earth, Wind and Fire singer Philip Bailey, for example, he commented that that group's penchant for Afrocentric garb revealed a lost history similar to the one uncovered in the Jehovah's Witnesses' version of the Bible.
Prince's statements can sound extreme to a secular listener. Some have accused him of trying to conceal his views to avoid alienating nonbelieving (and, particularly, gay) fans. But his desire to be tolerant seems sincere. His favorite television show, for example, is "Real Time With Bill Maher." Asked if the comedian's confrontational atheism bothers him, he harrumphed. "That's cool," said Prince. "He can be what he wants. I like arguments. Somebody saying I'm a terrible guitar player feeds me."

What a shame...

I've known people like him, although peripherally, as my closest friends love Christ and follow Him faithfully..

It amazes me some of the things that people believe and call the Bible. I agree, Christ is sovereign and He reigns forever. Money, fame, notoriety will never and can never take the place of believing in and knowing Christ for one's self..

I realize that Prince was a person who had a lot of impact on culture and whatnot....maybe he was a product of it...idk. But at any rate, he makes me think of my dad. My dad did a little stint out in Minnesota and was pretty involved with the music scene out there. He was more into the country aspect but he still frequented the music stores and rubbed elbows with a lot of the local scene people. He told me some stories that people told him about Prince and this all just makes me miss my dad.

Seriously guys? The guy was beautifully talented and hes dead. There's so much coldness on this website over the last year. You're not God. You don't know how it truly works after we die, neither do I. Being on the internet doesn't exempt you from acting like a human being. I can guarantee that none of you would say these awful things to his family face-to-face.

Be Christian. My gosh. I thought I was on 4chan when I was going through the posts between this one and the thread on the music forum.

Sorry to tell you but it looks like it may be a drug overdose. Time will tell.

Several commented today on the news that he was JW. So somewhere he must have mentioned it.

Bushido, Sister Lonelyinct started a more compassionate thread about Prince here:

The world considers the truth cold. Is that who you are too? You may not know the truth but I do ! The word which is the truth tells me who is saved and who isnt. Prince openly said over and over that he was a jehovah witness whom I know by SCRIPTURE that he denied the deity of Christ! JW are a cult my friend. I am a human being that tells the truth according to the scriptures!
The bible clearly states in John 8:24"Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins."
The truth is the truth! Do you want lies? Youll have to get that from those who do not have renewed minds. Try a secular site. They will tickle your ears all day long:)
