.......to start showing his true liberal democrat colors......... :) too, too funny......

In the past, Donald Trump has said that the American wages are too high and repeatedly expressed the concern that raising the minimum wage would undermine American competitiveness in the global economy. But less than a day after securing the status of presumptive Republican presidential nominee, he said he’d consider making it higher.
As the New York Times noted, the billionaire showman told Wolf Blitzer on CNN Wednesday that he’s “open to doing something with” the minimum wage. Trump also described himself as “very different from most Republicans” on the issue.

Within 24 Hours of Being Presumptive Nominee, Donald Trump ...

Poor Donnie...............sigh......

https://www.yahoo.com/news/one-law-firm-two-sets-of-clients-donald-trump-141244251.html

While Donald Trump publicly calls for mass deportations of all undocumented immigrants, his presidential campaign has hired a law firm that is fighting against the deportation of thousands of undocumented refugees from Central America.
After launching his campaign last year, Trump hired as his chief campaign counsel Donald F. McGahn, a former Republican chairman of the Federal Election Commission and now a partner in the Washington office of Jones Day, one of the country’s largest law firms, with more than 2,000 lawyers around the world. According to the most recent filings, Trump has paid Jones Day $598,109 for its work so far, which included defeating a legal challenge that sought to keep him off the ballot in the New Hampshire primary.
At the same time it has been billing the Trump campaign, Jones Day has been actively recruiting its partners and associates to provide free legal services to one category of the population that Trump wants to deport: the more than 100,000 people, mostly from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, who have entered the country unlawfully in the past few years and then sought asylum on the grounds that they were fleeing gang violence and other persecution in their home countries.

It's my understanding that New Zealand and a few other countries have a high minimum wage but no welfare. They also are stingy with immigration. That is something I could get behind.

Higher minimum wage is a mirage...it only raises the cost of living in other sectors.

This is the blind attitude that has gridlocked congress for years....... Idiot Party Stubbornness.

Trump has stressed, in a big way, right from the beginning, that he is for AMERICA.... not some holed-up politicians who would die for their "Party Line" to keep their jobs.

You cannot be so tuned-out not to have heard him say, at least a hundred times, that he fully intends to NEGOTIATE. Just what did you think that word NEGOTIATE meant? Thankfully, he has more sense than to think like most politicians.... "My way, or NOTHING!"

That stupid, childish attitude has been strangling our country for years.

Yes, this is Trump's spirit of "negotiation." Not just trying to shove OUR thinking down THEIR throats, as WE complain THEY want to do to US.

Do none of you see the idiocy in thinking all the country MUST live and believe only as we do?

great point Willie and well said. That's why I've always thought trump will make a good president. The religious right seems to Want a pres who will just go in, knock everything over and run rough shod over everyone. It's an interesting hidden hypocrisy that they display regarding trump. They say he isn't conservative enough and in the next breath they say that he will be a lawless president like Obama. I admit it's sort of entertaining to watch trump scramble their brains like breakfast. Lol

Trump is a marketer and salesman. He will give you what you want to hear in the pitch knowing that you will settle for what you actually get. In that aspect all politicians do the same thing.

The art of the compromise is found in trading things of unequal value to obtain what you want.

Trump will act for America as he acts for his corporations. He builds them. He doesn't try to destroy them.

Believe it or not, Trump is not contradicting himself..

Trump did mean it when he said that raising the minimum wage would hurt the country's ability to compete globally, BUT...
What he means by being "open to doing something about the minimum wage" is that he is considering a plan to provide more income to low wage earners without hurting America's competitiveness.

How in the world is that possible you ask?? By giving low wage earners an increase in yearly income in the form of substantial tax credits and/or exemptions. This would supplement their wages and give them a higher overall income WITHOUT forcing employers to increase their salaries.

..your welcome.

Continued....

Example: Johnny makes $12k a year after taxes.

When he files his taxes he will qualify for a big tax break that will give him back $5k that was witheld by his employer, and he will receive another $5k from a fund that is paid for through corporate capital gain taxes (from money that big companies made in the stock market).. so his total yearly income increases to $22k but his employer still pays him his original salary.

(this is just an example I made up at the top of my head)

For once maybe some win/win compromises can be made for us vs the politicians keeping the battle going and laughing all the way to the bank. I believe that trump actually wants and will do the things that need to be done to get us on the track of fixing this mess we are in.
