YES, THERE IS A SMALL GROUP THAT WOULD LIKE TO MOUNT A 3RD PARTY (INDEPENDENT) CANDIDATE TO RUN AGAINST BOTH TRUMP AND HILLARY, BUT THEY ARE HARDLY THE MAJORITY. THIS WOULD BE OK HAD THE AUTHOR SAID......

"A GROUP OF REPUBLICANS"

AND THE TRUTH IS, IT IS FOLLY ANYWAY......WITH NO CHANCE OF SUCCESS.

[h=3]Republicans mount controversial third-party bid to defeat Donald Trump

[/h]

Republicans have tried to derail Donald Trump by spending millions on TV ads pointing to his insensitive comments about women. Now they are trying the ultimate Hail Mary pass: A group of conservatives is discussing a third-party alternative, hoping for someone — anyone — to emerge to prevent Trump from becoming president. It is a move that is unheard-of in a party that normally rallies behind its presumptive nominee, and it illustrates just how desperate some Republicans are, nearly a week after Trump knocked his last challenger from the race. “To those Trumpsters who are criticizing us and saying we have a duty to vote for the Republican Party, I would say, at what cost?” said Deborah DeMoss Fonseca, spokeswoman for Conservatives Against Trump, the group mounting an independent candidacy. ...

They made a big stink over Trump having to sign a pledge that he would back whatever Republican nominee if he lost...... yet they are reneging on their very own pledge they forced him to sign.

Pretty bad. But, what is worse is that we voters are blind to the political hypocrisy going on right in front of us. All this latest ploy will do is ensure that Hillary gets the presidency. (And that seems to be what the Republican Party wants.)

I agree with the Pledge part......in that they signed it.........it's like the old adage: You made your bed, now lay in it.

However, I thought at the time that it was a stupid thing for any of them to have signed it.......The whole Pledge thing was ONLY intended for Trump, because at the time, he was floating the idea of an Independent run, and they were scared of that. They got caught in their own Trump-trap so to speak.

Now, to be fair, some of them are honoring their Pledge, but some are not. Even so, that does not make the language of the Article truthful. Yes, they all use misleading commentary..........
