Donald Trump 's surge in the polls isn't just the result of the usual bump presidential candidates historically enjoy after they sew up the primary battles and earn the "presumptive nominee" title. And it's also not just the result of Hillary Clinton 's mistakes, even though she is making some serious campaign errors right now. What has been happening over the last few weeks is that Trump has changed his attack and messaging in a subtle but effective way, so subtle that many pundits may have missed it. But here are the three things Trump is doing very well right now:

This is the exact reason why people are afraid to voice their support of Trump. Because they are afraid of being called stupid. It happens on every college campus...but people are getting less and less afraid and more and more, eyes are being opened. Get used to two words..... President Trump.

Good article, everyone should read it before commenting. Trump must have some incredible campaign managers to pull off these stunts of his!

Personally, I wouldn't vote for anyone who is left. I know, I don't have a vote!

1 The other Republican candidates were so bad and he is considered the best of an awful bunch.

2 Which Polls are being looked at. Are Democrats ecstatic about Trump?

3 You need two opposing candidates for the Presidency its ''the rules'' otherwise Obama will be President forever.

Haha yeah it used to be shameful to be a Nazi Nationalist. People are warming up to the idea though. Lets make Ger...I mean America great again guys!

I would take Hillary over Trump any day. Her flimsy-handed liberal regime would be much easier to overthrow than Trump's iron-fisted one, should either of them start stepping too hard on people's toes.

They are both Marxists going for the same agenda though. Trump backed the "assault weapons" ban and tons of gun control measures. Either way, we are getting Obama/Bush for another 4-8 years.

Have you ever encountered a Bernie or Hillary supporter? I hear they like to throw rocks at cops and horses and whatnot. Those are the real Nazi's.

What you'd really be getting with Hillary would have longer lasting effects than just her 4 to 8 years. A tipping point in the supreme court that would likely result in our constitution disappearing forever.

Sounds like heroes to me. There are some good people who are cops, but there's no such thing as a good cop.

our constitution disappearing forever.
We could only hope. Our constitution has either been powerless to stop tyranny from taking over or has enabled it. Our constitution is trash and is only followed occasionally.

Ugh I tried to add this but got rejected.

Am I saying Hillary/Sanders supporters got it right? Lol nope. But at the same time, Hillary/Sanders haven't made up a persona and created fake stances to attract a certain elderly/racist/Christian/nationalist demographic. People actually think that is really how Donald Trump talks and acts. It's insane. With Hillary/Sanders, you KNOW exactly what kind of Marxist you are getting.

If you must pick a master to feel safe, vote Libertarian. They are the closest things to Anarchists that you'll find. It would almost be like voting for me. Now wouldn't that make you feel safe?

Ya....egomaniac narcissists tend to raise well adjusted kids and have employees that love them. I was talking to my step dad last night and he said on the news Trump said this certain thing and they took just that sentence and played it over and over again. When I filled him in on what Trump said before and after that particular sentence, the whole meaning changed changed from what the local news media tried to make it into. When I was at the Trump rally on thurs there were some protestors there....not very many but a particular group of them got kicked out. On their way out they flipped us off. Nice people these types are that follow bernie.

There's a big difference between people's "eyes being opened" and it becoming socially accept to be stupid. The truth is, Trump IS pandering to stupidity, and people who think Trump will improve the country, ARE stupid. It should never be socially acceptable to blatantly ignore facts or spout hatred and lies. Trump's message is basically: climate science is a joke; all Muslims ought to be banned because they're all a threat to the country's safety; Mexicans are lazy and immigration should not be tolerated; really rich people shouldnt be taxed (but poor people should); gay people ought to get straight; stupidity is not only okay, it's awesome!

Those are all dangerous ideas. I hate to resort to what might be perceived as malicious Hitlerization, but the parralels make the comparison qualifiable. Trump looks at Mexicans like Hitler looked at the Polish; and Trump looks at Muslims like Hitler looked at the Jews. Trump also looks at southern Republicans like Hitler looked at Bavarians: he manipulates and decieves the very people who make up his majority support.

Well, I don't know your IQ and I didn't single you out specifically. Your ideas about Donald Trump are stupid, technically. Though you may well be smart in other areas. I dont know.

Everyone has a right to think a certain idea is stupid though. Chocolate fireguards are stupid. Concrete car suspension is stupid. Trump for president is stupid. In any case, peoples' ideas on topics often reflect their intelligence. People who deny climate change, for instance, are undeniably dim. And to recognize this, to see that a person is not bright, and to say it, is to describe a facet of their personality. You, like everyone else, don't get immunity from having flaws. You aren't given intrinsic protection from people identifying and vocalizing those flaws either.

I get called arrogant, precisely in scenarios like this. People vocalist flaws that perciebe in me. But it's nothing my ego can't handle; if yours is so fragile that you need to run to moderators every time someone challenges your opinion or alludes to people with the same opinions as you in a way you dislike, then go.

However, consider that Trump literally said climate change is a myth. Climate change is most definitely a reality. The climate is changing, largely due to humanity. Trump directly ignored or was ignorant of, what is a well known, internarionally affirmed, cold-hard fact. To be wilfully ignorant and contradictory of facts is the very essence of what stupidity is. It could well serve as the definition of the word.

Backing Trump for president is to support stupidity, promote stupidity and to elect stupidity as a role model l. I certainly wouldn't describe anyone who does that, as smart.

Backing Tump for president is still stupid.
Sir, with all due respect, you may need to know our society better before you are slamming people supporting a candidate you don't approve of (you are waving the British flag, but you are at times spelling and writing like you are from the US, so I'm not sure about your whereabouts).

You're flying off the handle when you're labelling people like this. Using the term "stupid" like you are doing makes me think of another term you are using, namely "dim".

I have no problem believing that you get called arrogant.

If being rude is your game, take it elsewhere...

Typical liberal. Can't argue on merit so you just call everyone who disagrees with you stupid. I wouldn't call you stupid but I would call you dangerous. Aren't from the uk? A country that's gonna be Islamic if it keeps going in your apparently preferred direction. If there is anything that qualifies as stupidity that would be it.

Disgreement isn't cause to think someone stupid, and I dont. But electing someone who literally denies scientific FACTS, actually IS stupid.

As far as the good cop thing...I can think of three that I know personally.
Trump supporters can be just as vulgar, not to mention violent.

And you know three good people who are cops. You don't know any good cops as that notion can't exist.
