I've had it!

I have never reported CC-members nor threads before, but after reading a lot of threads and posts that was very reportable icluding the "Cleveland Convention Corruption and Chaos" thread which had some real ludicrous posts (the thread wasn't a problem, but some posts were), I decided that the next offensive post, or thread, regardless of whom that post is offending, I'm gonna report it!

The insults, name calling and offensive behavior needs to stop. It is totally uncalled for and is an abomination. What are kids learning from people behaving like this? They are learning that foul language, acting like complete jerks and going on an insult spree is acceptable...well, it sure aint! Me, I dont post that much no more because I'm literally scared of the responses from people...it has a nice word describing it, self-censorship. It really shouldn't be like that. If a person can't diagree in a civilized manner, that person should not be part of a debate.

And please, stop labeling each other right wingers, left wingers, loony lefties, anti American Republicans etc etc...and stop using straw man argumentation...it is disgusting to see how some folks are twisting what others are posting, and then be attacking them for something they didnt say...

And to all yall not respecting the POTUS: No matter who is in office, we are to respect that position, and if a person can't do that, he or she should not resort to offensive behavior in an internet forum, but keep his or her mouth shut. Why should anybody else respect the POTUS if grown men and women fails to do so? And by not respecting the POTUS people are mocking the Constitution as well.

I'm just offering my opinion on a problem that should be addressed. I've grown weary of the name calling, insults and offensive behavior on here. Too many threads are being ruined by people looking for trouble.

Yes I have found that some of people around here start picking on each other after a subject gets heated. It would be good if they remembered that they are Christians and learn to turn the other cheek instead of replying with a likewise nasty remark. I love this place and if I don't want trouble I stay out of heated conversations.

This issue gets addressed every month or so. Nothing ever changes.

Maybe a "Time Out" option for such situations should be considered by Admin(s)? Three days or such? I have seen this bring resolution to some hot tempered folks on other Sites. Just a thought.........shoot, I may be one of the first to end up in a "Time Out." :)

You may have understood my comment, or not, don't know. But to be clear: What Admin/Mods does/do is block the Member from posting for a short period. Not a "banning," just a "Time Out."

Now, I know they (Admin(s) ... Mods) have a ton of work to do here monitoring and weeding out all the mean nasties, and this may be just not worth the effort for them, as well as, they have stated in the past, they try and allow free flowing debates........TO A POINT. Usually Oncefallen will interject with a warning if things get too far out of hand.

........just a thought.......

My way of dealing with this problem is to avoid engaging with that particular person again. There are some on site that fall under that category. A lot depends on an individuals sensitivity

Only God can effect a heart change. Apart from the heart change there will be no attitude change. What is in the heart is what comes out of the mouth or in this case comes across the keyboard.

The few always reflect badly on the many.

Sometimes I'm surprised I haven't been banned because I know I can be harsh. However my harshness is usually directed at specific types of people: those who attempt to shut out the Kingdom of Heaven against others with their pharisaic views, and those who spread discord. Other than that, I'm a nice guy.

I don't have a problem with people who disagree with me....tbh I don't care at all...but when people try to spin lies as truth I have an auto-response fo calling it out and I usually post sources of why i disagree/backup my opinion....I don't entertain name-calling to the best of my ability but present my side and let the person decide....it's not my job to convince them but let them think for themselves.

It is Obama's lies and blatant arrogance that gets me ranting. The guy, to me, is a low level person of character. I truly do believe there is something wrong with him. He outright circumvents the constitution and many of his foreign policies have needlessly gotten Americans killed. He is not for this country.
That being said, I do pray for him, and respect the office he holds. I just don't respect him. And I admit, I dislike him.
Jenny is right though about us setting the example, and being at a higher lvel, not the same, or lower, then the world when it pertains to civil discussions.
Thank you Jenny for you love and concern.

1 Kings 19:11, "And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and break in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:

1 Kings 19:12, And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice."

How do you pray for someone, sincerely that you don't like?
With Christian love and humility. And, it ain't easy. Sometimes I have to take several minutes quietly sitting, with head bowed and eyes closed, just thinking about Jesus and all He has done for me, and where He went to get me, how far down He reached, before I can even entertain the thought of praying for someone I sincerely do not like. I'm sure they don't like me either, and that also helps. Praying for our enemies/those that wrong us is not easy, but we are Commanded to do it.
