Ted Cruz signed a pledge to endorse the eventual republican nominee. I guess a guys word isn't his bond anymore.

He probably didn't think Trump would really be the nominee at the time, and Cruz doesn't think Trump Is worthy.

That's not political suicide. That's standing up for truth!

Two true conservative spoke tonight. It's good to see the Grand Ole Party still has people who remember what conservatism is about. Four years from now after whining what's wrong with our party again having lost three elections in a row, maybe we'll get back to what the party is supposed to be about -- conservative views, not libertarianism.

Cruz went back on his word he made during the debates.

I didn't think Americans could be this stupid either.

I promised Mom when she was dying I would keep my word and raise my little brother up to be a good Catholic, like I said when I became his godmother. I tried. After four years and after hearing too many masses with priests giving sermons like "Mary Goddess of the Universe," I just couldn't anymore.

When you make a promise that goes against your very fiber, it's time to break your word, instead of breaking your beliefs!

You've done it.

Wait....what? So you are likening controlling how someone else turns out (which you cannot control) to just simply doing what you said you would do (which you can control)?.......ok.

This has nothing to do with Trump. Cruz pledged that he would support the eventual Republican nominee.

You bring up a point long ignored by many of the right wingers on this forum. Up to now, Trump was never acknowledged as a conservative by any one. In fact most right wingers used to refer to him as one of those New York elite liberals. If he has become a conservative all of a sudden then it shows that he is a political sellout and one who is governed, not by principle, but by expediency.

I thought you liked left wingers? Shouldn't you be throwing all your weight behind Trump if he is such?

It has everything to do with Trump! Cruz could not back Trump for the obvious reason -- he should never be President. 16 people ran for the job. What was the likelihood Republicans would vote for a man who doesn't know how to check his emotions and would think a wall is going to stop illegal immigrants?

I really never thought America would come to this terrible choice in my lifetime. I thought at least a small majority of Americans used their brains, especially conservatives. Obviously, so did Cruz.

So, again? How was Cruz supposed to control The Donald, since you seem to think that makes it different.

Right wingers used to detest him especially since he was pro choice. So if he is the principled conservative you think he is, why the sudden change? I realize you are not principled yourself but why the sudden defense of someone you people condemned all this time?

Hey there whatever you are. You're the one that said Trump is a New York liberal. You should be all over that...shouldn't you? Aren't you a Deblasio fan? Wow...must suck to live inside that head of yours.
