USA presidential candidate Donald Trump assured his election last night at the GOP convention with a strong, cohesive, powerful speech that confirmed his abilities as a strong leader and speaker. His daughter, Ivanka, confirmed this with one of the most powerful speeches ever made in America by a lady. Ivanka's powerful confirmation of her father, delivered with clear, calm authority, in my opinion was unprecedented, especially saying that some people say "I feel for you," while her father says, "I'll fight for you!"
Mr. Trump's condemnation of the attacks on law enforcement, and his statement that "without law and order, prosperity is not possible," was vital in light of the attacks on innocent officers in America. Attacks on the authority of the law can never be tolerated.
However, I'm sure his advisors are advising him that it is equally as vital to address the abuse of police authority, especially against minorities, if he wants to succeed in uniting America against violence. Equally important are dramatic justice reform that addresses the "justice for the rich" structure of the legal system, and arbitrary, archaic, and even nonsensical laws that do not match triage crisis realities, and a massive re-structuring of the prison system and the 16th century "concentration camp" mentality of so-called "criminal reform," that not only is hopelessly ineffective, deadly to non-violent offenders and first offenders, and clearly amounts to "cruel and unusual punishment" under modern standards of a civilized society. A place where promising graduate students go to die in only three days for a traffic violation (Sandra Bland), and where teenagers have been held in solitary confinement for years without even being charged for a crime and have had their lives and mental health permanently damaged.
Compassionate justice is one of the roles of the Christian church as well, and president Trump will need to address the prison and justice reform crisis, as the wave of justice reform, ordained by God, sweeps the nation and the world in preparation for the return of Christ. America should be the land of the free, not the land of unjust incarceration where often innocent offenders, or low offenders, go to die slowly for their crimes with sentences often 10 times or more than what fits the crime, while those who have committed crimes against humanity such as corruption perpetrated by government officials, those who murder marriages through adultery, and corporate criminals, have no accountability. This isn't to say that Hillary Clinton should go to prison, as the director of the FBI confirmed in saying, "prisons are for those with criminal intentions," but, it's time to match crimes with reasonable justice. Sending women to prison for 30 years over a chemical substance, after they have reformed their lives, while ignoring consequences for those who abuse public trust and trust in marriage are not held accountable, is not justice in the eyes of God, who is coming to restore true justice to humanity.
