I'm curious to see where people identify themselves relative to known political figures. If you wish, save the above picture, edit it and place an X where you think you fall in the graph. Place other X's to give your best idea of where you think political figures fall in.

Where would you place: Trump, Hillary, and Abraham Lincoln? Lincoln is a difficult one for me to pin, as he was conservative in wanting to preserve the Union but liberal in that he didn't want to "conserve" slavery... he was "progressively liberal" by modern standards.
I'm American.

And you?

Where are Cthulhu, Darth Vader, Lord Voldemort, Sauron, and Leto II?
With the composite wisdom of the greats from the primordial ooze, to the Butlerian Jihad, to the grand conquest of the stars by Paul and the Fedkaykin, our grand God-Emperor Leto II transcends all corners of a scale wrought by feeble and faithless mortal minds.

I've been asked on more than one thread whether or not that's me. I laugh every time.

But seriously, may you be graced by the presence of Shai Hulud, the great maker, the Old Father of Eternity.

Desdechado, where would you put George Washington?

My guess would be libertarian-leaning, but how far left/right?

Whew, he's harder to place for me than Lincoln because he is yet farther removed from modern political discourse.

You probably pegged him right on the Libertarian/Authoritarian Axis. Most of our founding fathers were a shade libertarian, but still convinced that good societal order was essential to that liberty. George Washington was a powerful figure among them because he personified that good order down to how he lived his daily life. Order which he brought to the Continental Army which some in his day saw as Authoritarian.

Then, lest we forget, his role in the Whiskey Rebellion. Either way, by modern standards, I'll give the libertarian nod. I mean one of his main beefs with the Brits is that they didn't give the Colonists enough property rights and room to expand.

I cannot see a good argument for placing him on the Left. He was the quintessential Virginia aristocrat from his birth until his dying day.

Verdict: (Very) Right Wing Libertarian

Don't ask me to do Jefferson. My response will be "which Jefferson?" ;)

The oldest cop-out answer in the book. :p
Wrong. That is "Am I my brother's keeper?"

My question is simple and has been asked before, Why is a German constantly acting like she has a say in American politics?

I can't help if a direct question isn't answered, but I can keep asking in case maybe she misses the question.

And, in like kind, I'm not really interested in how Hitler fits into American political terms. He wasn't American and libertarian is a new term.

Actually, you've asked me at least 3 times or made reference to why I have a say in American politics. I've responded each time that I am an American citizen.

I don't fit into a political spectrum. Have always hated politics. Office politics, city politics, family politics, national politics. "politics is the endeavor to make the wrong into right and give solidity to pure wind"......or something like that.
