I look up to you very much, brother Popeye, but seriously, give me a little credit. I understand full well what's taking place with Black youth across our great nation because I live in the trenches with many young Blacks. They are indeed misguided, but my responses in this thread were directed at the OP who HATES Trump for being a "fascist" yet fascism was on full display with his OP rhetoric. I despise hypocrisy and I called it out. But not surprisingly my comment to him was ignored.

On edit: the OP responded but still displayed fascism.

It is about misguidance, it is about lack of compassion, it is about people in the public eye making things worse children see and look up to these people and what they see confuses some of them. It is not just black youths it is all youths. We have young girls starving themselves because they think they are to fat to be popular. we have young men doing the same. We have young people shying away from things they enjoy because it is not the norm. Society is doing a good job of making a mess of our youths and it is not going to get better that is for sure. Good positive role models are hard to come by these days. Parents are never home or are to busy to engage with their children to teach them to be their own person.

It has nothing to do with being fascist. Professional athletes are supposed to be setting an example. Disrespecting the national anthem is unacceptable and should not be tolerated and any professional Arena

I believe in freedom of speech and I think he had every right to sit down or hold up his middle finger if he wanted to, but that doesn't mean that I or anyone else has to like what he was expressing... :rolleyes:

nope... it's about proper decorum in a professional Arena. If I were an NFL official I would say yes you do indeed have the right not to stand but you will be doing so in the locker room

no i would not say that it is more about respect for your country and the fallen soldiers who have died to give this butt head the right to be defiant. It is more of compassion for and respect for all our country has faced, It would be like your sisters boyfriend not doing a tradition you asked him to do in order to date your sister. He defiance in not doing what you asked would be like a slap in the face. Because he would be defying your traditions for his own selfish reasons.

Believe the issue is the fact that many men and women died so this highly paid underperformer (for lack of better words, and that's being nice :)) can disrespect what they died for to give him the freedom to disrespect.

Wrong. PARENTS are to set the example. Every parent regardless of race or ethnicity should be telling their children that kaepernick is a race-baiting troll who can't handle his fall from athletic grace, so he's playing the race card and acting the fool doing so. And you can bet my Black friends know where I stand.

I definitely do not like what he did but I also do not like hypocrisy from our CC brethren who constantly scream that Trump is a dangerous fascist then proceed to display their own fascism by stating Kaepernick should be punished for expressing his freedom of speech.

I don't get how people can be bothered so much by one person's personal choice. Are people losing sleep at night over this? I couldn't care less if Colin Kaepernick stood for the national anthem lol. He doesn't have to do anything.

If someone has the right to do something, whether you believe it's acceptable or not, you can't punish them lol. Last I checked this was the USA, not North Korea. No one has to be patriotic and no one should be forced to stand up for something they disagree with or for whatever reason, don't want to do. Respect our flag or be punished? Right... It would be foolish to even attempt to go down that path.

Remember that old saying freedom isn't free? He wants his freedom of speech...fine.... he can keep his butt on the bench for the rest of the game too..... I would have the freedom of speech to walk through a black neighborhood wearing a t-shirt that says I love the KKK however there will be consequences for my actions
