It is a responsibility handed down to us from our forefathers. Blood was shed, lives were lost,at great cost our freedoms were fought for. Its is our duty to vote. There people around the world that would love the chance for the freedoms that we enjoy. It we do use them,if we do not cherish them we will lose them. A Christian, above all people should vote.
I get it. I vote and take it seriously. But even more important than voting is to educate ourselves about our constitution and the very idea of what those sacrifices were for.

Replace "but more important" with "equally important" and we would agree.

I voted yesterday. I did a write-in vote as I had no intention of voting for either one of these two charlatans. I voted in the local elections as well.. a buddy of mine is running for County Clerk
There is a judge here who always runs unopposed so why do I write in just so I can vote against him. This time around I wrote in Pee Wee Herman

If Christians ceased from voting, the future of the nation would be decided by those who are not.

[for me anyway] no, because it is not an ordinance: as followers of Christ we are to (as it is written) submit ourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, for so is the will of God; but voting is not an ordinance, but voluntary, and the premise by many churches is our participation helps keep the morality prescribed by God in our society. Unfortunately in our societies present condition it is in its downfall, for God has abandoned it, though in times past it may have been somewhat held together by Christian influence, but not any more; for when unbelievers become the majority in any society, then shall that society be given up by God, as is evident in history of nations. But as for voting it is a secular practice which exactly requires a person to put their trust in man, which is exactly what we are not supposed to do as believers; and no we cannot have it both ways. And by the way we are also as followers of Christ supposed to be denying our own will, but if we involve ourselves with secular practices, then that is our will, and not the Lord's, because again voting is not an ordinance: we are supposed to be the ones that have no confidence in the flesh, not the ones that do; for this cause is the unbelieving world confused about Christianity, because so many which say they are Christians continually keep looking back with one foot in the world after they have put their hand to the plow.

Yes it's a good thing to do, the other way is to have a dictator tell the people what they should do. I like the thought of voting better, rather than being told how and what to do by a dictator style of government.

How can anyone say a Christian should not vote? God created government and being as leaders will be judged as well need to vote to prevent evil. Not voting is no different than promoting evil. If you know a politician has intentions of doing things against God that affects ones freedom to worship then take a standing vote against it. Christians may not be of this world but we are in this world and we do have a voice.

Peewee is a pervert. Got caught in a movie theatre being pretty naughty. How does your conscience allow you to vote for such a deviant?

You're allowed to touch your own self. You're not allowed to touch someone else without their permission

Well this is a strictly hypothetical conversation because we all know Pee-wee Herman is not going to be appointed as judge... but let me give you some background on the judge I'm voting against.... back in highschool a freshman died of a heart attack on the football field. The next day we're sitting around in the cafeteria talking about it and I hear someone say..."oh well, it's just another dead ni**er"... it takes a special kind of sociopath to say something like that at a time like this.... so let's see...racist sociopath.....guy who touched himself in a porn theater..... it's not a hard choice

Well you never know.....Hillary probably wants to give them that right in the name of diversity and all.....
It seems the children already have the right to, not only view on line porn, but be in porn online. Children have been in trashy hellwood movies for decades......with impunity, no outcry. No Protection, no law, no nothing. I wrote senator Grassley twice asking him what he was doing about this abominable travesty. No answer. Hear the crickets? I guess its not even an issue. You don't even hear Trump bringing it up...the destruction of our youth. Not even Fox news but for an occasional 3 second
mention.

But if you were to make a dirty movie in your home with kids in that movie a few years ago and you got caught....whew..wee..you'd be in big trouble and rightly so. Not so today. And hellywood has been doing it for ever with a free pass. I just love this country, don't you?

I saw a bunch of young children in the park yesterday with their machines.....what are they looking at?

I bring this up once in a while with folks my age.....dear in the headlights. No clue. Don't care. No big deal. That where we are at folks. Church boring and snoring, the world asleep just like the sheep.

Keith Green had a line in one of his songs...'the world is asleep in the dark and the church is asleep in the light.'

Hope i did't mess up thread.

Isn't Keith Green so relevant today?! His songs were the reason I started in ministry when I was 16yrs old. My eyes were opened when I traveled to churches, not in a good way. And now with this vote that looms ahead of us I find the apathy of the church even more upsetting and discouraging. Christians, dont know who to vote for? Going to sit this one out? Google late term abortion and see how its done and get back to me about not voting. For shame America, for shame.
