.......I think that ship never even left the drydocks! :)

Given the inexcusable way these protestors are acting around the Country, I'd say the chance of our people unifying is pretty much the same as the Church unifying.

In my opinion, neither of these will happen until the return of Christ......but, now, that may just be me.

Obama said what he was expected to say when he called for the Nation to set aside their differences and be Americans FIRST.........Trump called for unity in his Victory Speech, and Clinton even touched on this by saying that people should view Trump with an open mind, and give him a chance to Govern.

Now, one can doubt the level of sincerity these comments were made with.........and I do, but they all said what was expected of them to say. Given that they all spent the last two years demonizing the other, well Obama and Clinton bashing Trump, and Trump bashing them.........one has to wonder which was their true feelings right?

I always find it humorous that Politicians will spend one to two years and hundreds of millions of dollars driving a wedge between the peoples of our Nation, fanning the flames of anger, hatred, racism and such, and then, the day after the Elections, stand up and say........"Well, gosh golly geeze...........we all need to set aside our difference and join hands and be friends now."

Seriously?

I wish some Reporter would ask Obama, Clinton, or Trump............"uh, guys, how's that call for National unity working out for ya?" That would be must see TV right? :)

Anyway, it is sad, but our Nation is so divided, and there is plenty of blame to go around, and a pox on BOTH PARTIES for promoting division throughout every Election Cycle, and then seem surprised when riots break out on our Nations streets. I also believe it is sad that Christians wonder why folks can't set aside their differences (after an Election) and unify for the good of the Nation, when the Church itself has not managed to do that!

MARANATHA!

The problem is your overly long selection period for your president.. One and a half years election campaign is a long time for the sides to get more and more extreme in their attacks upon the other side.. They end up brainwashing their supporters into thinking the world is going to come to an end if the other side wins.. In my country the last election process took 8 weeks.. and that was one of the longest campaign periods in our History.. The USA really needs to cut the candidate period down to a weeks convention for each party to select their candidate and then a 3 week election campaign period after the conventions.. The longer they have to campaign the more money they need and the more they must beg and agree to do special favors for their donors. The longer your campaign the more opportunity for corruption to infest both candidates groups...

another thing that contributes to this is the media, and there manipulation of facts. a headline will say " unarmed black man shot by police " then launch into a story about how cops are out gunning down people of color, then show the riots, then maybe about 6 hours later actually tell what led up to the incident. stuff like this has a heavy hand in all this divide,

It's all about how many "clicks" they can get. They don't care about anything else. They've never been threatened by armed thugs, never been shot at, never been holding a crime victims hand waiting for paramedics or worse to arrive. But if an officer makes a mistake they'll be all over that officer. I have lost most of my respect for those people.

Eventually a fire will run out of fuel. Either by itself or the help of someone else.

More likely they will just get stoned and forget about it.

While that is true to some extent, perhaps the most racially charged election process was when Obama was running...

When he won, did you see ANY rioting in the streets? Any burning of flags?

I mean, come on, the blame for the riots should be laid at the feet of the ones at fault..... the rioters. ALL citizens were subjected to the same "inputs" from the media and the two political parties..... Which political party has provided all the rioters?

There may be a lot of truth in that.
