California SB1322 Decriminalized minors engaging in and soliciting prostitution.

Democrats say shame on Republicans for treating the children as criminals instead of victims.

How will this law affect the situation in reality?

We do need to pray and support ministries who fight against the sex traffic trade---James Robison & Matthew Barnett have ministries reaching out to these victims...

The young people participating in this disgusting activity are IMHO, the real victims here. To me the people who victimize the young people are the criminals and should be removed from our society. Why should the victims be imprisoned?

An adult having sex with a minor is (statutory) rape. Does it really make sense to continue to criminalize the victim aka the minor who is raped? I understand we (Americans) think prisons are excellent rehabilitation centers, but no... they really aren't. There should be alternatives to this that would better protect and help children who are willingly or forcibly prostituting.

There is false logic some have that decriminalizing this is somehow advocating for child prostitution... No... that's not what it means at all...

I had read up on this some last week and it's not really as shocking as it sounds.

They have decriminalized child prostitution to keep children who are the victims of this crime from being treated by the justice system as a co-conspirator in the crime. An adult having sexual contact with a child is still a crime under different statutes thus the "client" and the pimp can still be charged under those statutes.

most children don't have a clue to the 'reality' of what they are getting into or forced into...
