The Hotel that was destroyed was called Rigopiano. That seems to mean "plan of the Pentagram".

It seems to me the Hotel represents some Satanic Plan that has been scotched, foiled.

An assassination attempt on the Don maybe...?

One of the survivors phoned his boss for help, and the boss could not get any emergency responders to believe him, resulting in a two hour delay to even start trying to get to the site.
