It's a bunch of tunnels already. These people knows how to dig.
This also happens to Jerusalem but they stick dynamite down them and close them up. We got a new president who sounds like he ain't playin. His secretary of defense bombed ISIS like 31 times his first day in office. This administration will not be like the old or even bush.

Ok then! We'll see...and I remember everything.
Not only will Mexico pay for it....they will enjoy paying for it.....in U.S. dollars.......cut ALL funding, ALL trade, ALL support until they cough it up........put the Marines from Pendleton and Army from the big base in Texas on the border....they are already being paid and like Roman soldiers...guard and build the wall at the same time!

Unless I'm mistaken Mexico has already refused to pay for the wall..
Obviously Mexico is not about to pay the US treasury for the cost of the wall directly. Mexico will end up paying for the wall indirectly due to lost US financial assistance and most likely high taxes on wire transfers of money from the US to Mexico.

This whole wall thing tugs at my heart. I can't help but think of all the drug cartel money that's been wasted on buying off the crooked politicians not to have a wall built. Trump's ruining everything as we know it :(

I'm curious if Trump will use Mexican laborers to build the wall. They're readily available at Home Depot!

:)

That wall construction is going to be fun, think I'm gonna apply for a job at the US Border Patrol. Gotta hurry, though, at 41 it'll be too late lol.

Many walls have been built over the centuries,

Hadriens wall built in the UK by the Romans to keep the barbarians out.

Walls don't last, they become tourist attractions and scenic walks. The crumbling remnants
just remind people in the future how stupid we all once were.
The difference is that all those walls were built before modern technology existed...

We can now build a wall that can be monitored 24/7 from a comfy, air-conditioned Border Patrol station. There are already border patrol stations all up and down the border. They just need to build the wall and install some monitors and sensors. We can even use live satellite imagery now.

Just like a giant home security system....

OH and the BEST part is....

We don't need to station an army of guards all across the border... all we need is a few of our little unmanned friends... the Predator Drone...

And our soldiers can operate them while eating Cheetos in the comfort of a secret, remote base...

The problem is walls can be scaled, destroyed, pulled down, dug under etc. Unless there are plans to
man every metre of the wall 24/7 then it won't make much difference. It will also take a good
amount of time to build. It's just a PR exercise.

Ps our wall the English Channel gets scaled in numerous ways.
Silly British... you put your wall under WATER! :p

Like I said, I agree... walls are generally not an effective, long term solution. But, until we get our government/society to agree that we have to keep out the influx of visitor parasites, a wall is the best temporary solution.... and temporary might last for decades... just depends on how rapidly things change.

If a nation wants to remain the nation they have been, there have to be rules about who can be a citizen of that nation. If there are no rules, then you have anarchy, then chaos..... and the nation ceases to exist.

Look at how great Rome was, for so long... and they protected their "citizenship" status to the death. It was important to them... and it should be to us, as Americans, and to you, as British..

This is only one of the many things Teddy Roosevelt had to say about immigration.....

The Wall is a great idea to act as a small deterrent for illegal immigrants/drug smuggling. I'm hoping Trump goes after people who hire those illegal immigrants.

A lock on your door does act as a small deterrent for thieves, but if you don't give them a reason to want to break in then they won't waste their time trying to break in. Illegals come here because people are hiring them, they are being fed.

Exactly. We have over 50 million to Mexico in 2015. Take that away and technically they will help with wall
