Its been a while since I've read any of Walid Shoebats articles. This morning I did...not actually presenting as the final answer as to who is antichrist and false prophet...just Shoebats opinion. The shoe "bat" does look like it fits but he does say he could be wrong.
This is just a bit of the article. This part interested me moreso. Never heard of Hagia Sophia.
~Jesus warned that in the last days things will be in reverse, that when headlines say “war” as we see Erdogan declaring a war between Cross and Crescent, that in reality its “rumors of wars”. Christ warned, it is when the Antichrist says “peace” that war is on the horizon.
In today’s world where things are in reverse, the majority foolish ‘conservatives’ are lazy servants. Their ears are easily tickled and they quickly go to sleep, but the few wise are not easily excited and they are fully awake, stubborn against evil, steadfast, refusing to have their ears tickled.
Think in reverse. These days, what sounds good and what tickles your conservative ears is pre-planned to have people vote the way of evil.
Erdogan may possibly transform the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul into a mosque before the April 16th referendum as demanded by nationalists and Islamists for years. Such a step would at the same time be a symbolic departure by Turkey from the West.
Europe of course, won’t give a damn, since the Hagia Sophia is an icon of the Christian East. The games being played as ‘good-cop bad-cop’ are igniting two dangers; two springs, a Muslim Spring and a European Spring. History will reveal that both will threaten the entire globe.
But converting the Hagia Sophia into a mosque should be a major issue for all professing Christians. The Turkish Minutes reveals:
“Hagia Sophia is a symbol for the Islamic world and the symbol of Istanbul’s conquest. Without it, the conquest is incomplete, we have failed to honor Sultan Mehmet’s trust,” Erdogan said back in 2014 citing a 15th Century deed signed by the conquering Caliph and decrying as sin other uses of Hagia Sophia. To Erdogan, its a symbol of reviving Ottomanism and that he is the man of the century, the revived Sultan Mehmet the conqueror of Constantinople from western secularism.

Turkey’s historic Hagia Sophia museum will be converted into a mosque, and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and officials from the Justice and Development Party (AKP) will perform Friday prayers there, according to a report in the Sözcü daily on Monday.
The report, written by Zeynep Gürcanlı, claims that the move will be aimed at increasing “yes” votes in a public referendum to be held in April.
“Amid the cross versus the crescent discourse, there is serious talk at the presidential palace about plans to end Hagia Sophia’s museum status and open it to Muslim prayer at full capacity,” Gürcanlı wrote … In a speech last week, President Erdoğan said that a recent decision by the European Court of Justice against two female employees in Belgium and in France who were dismissed from their jobs for refusing to remove their headscarves started a war between Islam and Christianity in Europe.
“The European Union, they started the war of the cross and the crescent. There is no other explanation,” Erdoğan said … Erdoğan has been using an increasingly anti-European discourse recently due to some European countries’ refusal to allow Turkish government officials to hold campaign rallies for the upcoming referendum.
A constitutional package which will be voted in the referendum will introduce an executive presidency in Turkey if approved.
Three years ago Shoebat.com warned predicting that Hagia Sophia will be desecrated as “tens of thousands of Muslims have been gathering there on Saturday to pray demanding it will again be turned into a mosque — a dream they believe Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan can fulfill.”The report, written by Zeynep Gürcanlı, claims that the move will be aimed at increasing “yes” votes in a public referendum to be held in April.
