Himalayan glaciers granted status of 'living entities'

Glaciers, lakes, and forests have been granted "living entity" status in India. Why? Because apparently that's what's necessary to stop people from destroying the environment.

"'The rights of these entities shall be equivalent to the rights of human beings and any injury or harm caused to these bodies shall be treated as injury or harm caused to human beings,' the highest court in Himalayan state of Uttarakhand said in its ruling on Friday."

I sure wonder when twisters will be granted that kind of status...and then they'll make the Tornado Alley a national park to protect the twisters habitats.

Oh well, we'll see...

I doubt that the decision will accomplish much. Maybe it's a start to get the Hindu people to clean up their act. One thing we as Christians should realize is that many of the people of India believe that they are Christians because they have a cross as one of their gods.
