The latest News here is that in talks with the Chinese Trump is going to tell them to reign in North Korea otherwise he will do it himself. Trump has not specified exactly what he has in mind but it sounds ominous. Its Ironic that the US needs the Chinese good will to prevent a possible war. Your thoughts please.....

He doesn't need China's goodwill, but he knows that China and NK have very close diplomatic relations. In fact, China has embassies in Pyongyang and another city in NK. Likewise, North Korea has an embassy in Beijing. Their diplomatic relations goes back to the 1950's, so it would be wise for the US to at least give China the chance to give permission before bombing the carp out of Kim's military defenses.

Pretty much business as usual then. I don't see it being too ominous, they've been begging China to rein in north Korea for years, as if China controlled north Korea and as if China had America's best interests at heart. China will give some empty promises to Trump's empty threats. Trump will get to toot his own horn to his domestic audience for being "tough" on north Korea. North Korea will keep doing what they're doing. Nothing is changing too fast in this situation it seems.

I dont think Trump is asking for China's permission to bomb NK. NK existence depends on the Chinese who prefer to have
a communist state on their border rather than have a unified Democratic Korea. As I see it the hope is that China will lean heavily on the regime to curb their Nuclear ambitions and constant threats. I pray that a sensible solution will be found because the alternative is too bad to contemplate.

Who said Trump is going to bomb north Korea? I thought you said Trump hasn't specified what he will do. It sounds like an empty threat to me.

China has good relations with north Korea, this is true. Perhaps this is why China really never does anything about north Korea, but that doesn't mean north Korea's existence depends on China. No country's existence depends on any other, but God sets up and destroys them at will.

It was zeroturbulence that mentioned bombing North Korea. Whatever Trump has in mind I think it will be more than a reprimand on Twitter. North Korea is dependant on China whatever your theological position is. It has been since 1953
Prior to that China acively participated in the Korean War. If it wasnt tied to China the South would have taken it years ago with US help.

I don't know...

N. Korea seems pretty sensitive about whatever Trump says on Twitter.

I saw the title and expected, "walk into a bar..." when entering the thread.

Needless to say, I'm disappointed.

I'm more interested in the trade talks between the two. I doubt that Little Fat boy pays any attention to what China says. He's having too much fun goading the US, Japanese, and European press.

Will not be the first tie we fought and killed Chinese troops......although.....this time we may be judged by God.......and lest we forget...Russia is also Communist!

The Battle of Chosin Reservoir, also known as the Chosin Reservoir Campaign or the Changjin Lake Campaign (Korean: 장진호 전투; hanja: 長津湖戰鬪; rr: Jangjin ho jeontu; Chinese: 长津湖战役; pinyin: Cháng Jīn Hú Zhànyì),[SUP][c][/SUP] was a decisive battle in the Korean War. The name "Chosin" is derived from the Japanese pronunciation "Chōshin" of the Chinese word 長津.[SUP][12][/SUP][SUP][13][/SUP] The UN forces relied on Japanese language maps dating from their occupation of Korea which had only ended five years earlier at the conclusion of World War II. Shortly after the People's Republic of China entered the conflict, the People's Volunteer Army 9th Army[SUP][d][/SUP] infiltrated the northeastern part of North Korea.
On 27 November 1950, the Chinese 9th Army surprised the US X Corps commanded by Major General Edward Almond at the Chosin Reservoir area. A brutal 17-day battle in freezing weather soon followed. In the period between 27 November and 13 December, 30,000[SUP][4][/SUP] United Nations troops (later nicknamed "The Chosin Few") under the field command of Major General Oliver P. Smith were encircled and attacked by approximately 120,000[SUP][6][/SUP] Chinese troops under the command of Song Shi-Lun, who had been ordered by Mao Zedong to destroy the UN forces. The UN forces were nonetheless able to make a fighting withdrawal and broke out of the encirclement while inflicting crippling losses on the Chinese. The evacuation of the X Corps from the port of Hungnam marked the complete withdrawal of UN troops from North Korea

China has sided with N Korea over the years.

But China has a tiger by the tail.

What about when N Korea turns against China?

China will realize that the nukes are aimed at them.

Then China will realize the situation that they have caused by supporting a murderer and genocidal maniac.

They may be the ones who are devastated by N Korea.

I think this is an enormous overestimation of N Korea.

I predict once Trump gets the feel of the most powerful military in world history nothing will ever be the same again.

I think that this is a wise saying,

Never underestimate your enemy.

-----

Is the leader of N Korea mentally fit?

ISIS took on the world.

Look at the results.

----

N Korea may be the ISIS of Asia.

Attack and kill without reason, suicide bombers with nukes.

----

How long did the last Korean war last?

A war would last for years.

Who would help?

Or.....Go it alone?

Perhaps, a man who didn't know any better,

Might try to take on the whole world.

Destroying any hope of peace,

Creating a world of war and devastation.

Mass murder, on a global scale.

I read today that China has placed 150,000 troops on the North Korean border. It is thought that they are there to prevent masses of North Koreans trying to flee into China when the fat boy hits the fan.

I wish Trump would tell the President of China that they should dispose of the fat boy in N. Korea and annex N. Korea to be a part of China. Then, take control of their nukes............at least then, we could all breath a wee bit easier.
