No, I'm not kidding and I'm not slow on the news. (Well I am, but only because our news didn't report it for over a week.) He's the 75 year old reenactor who plays Ben Franklin in our city -- Philadelphia. (He looked the part.) And he married the reenactor or who played Betsy Ross. The two of them married when he was a spry 68 year old.

Prayers for Linda Wilde (aka Betsy Ross, his wife.)

Before my aunt and uncle died, they owned a mansion that was part of the underground railroad network. They lived in Elmira, NY, so obviously those slaves going that far north were headed "norther." I wouldn't be surprised to know some of my kin helped people become Canadian. (And another branch of the family were Rebels so fought against that happening.)

A lot of slaves made it to Nova Scotia, where Im from. They found out the first winter how cold it was and turned around and went to Louisiana. Cant say I blame 'em. They just had two storms back to back in Newfoundland, where my mother is from. 105 cms in the first week of April! I do not miss home.

I spent six weeks in Newfoundland in Nov/Dec 1960. They seemed to have 30kt winds the whole time I was there. They were so cold that I shivered for a week after I got back to Florida.

Lol!!Yep thats Newfoundland! We traveled there one summer and the temps dipped to freezing in July. The wind never lets up.In certain parts of the state trees only grow about four feet tall and bent over because of the wind. There is an old joke that a Newfoundlander flew to the mainland and when he got off the plane he fell over because there was no wind to hold him up! lol
