Sorry to sidetrack, but: Sources?
The world SEEMS worse because we hear all about it. When people didn't have PC's, smartphones, or even TV's, they didn't get to hear about war / terrorism and natural disasters from the opposite side of the globe, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.
Yes there are wars ... the bible almost starts up with a war
Yes there is disease ... the bible is full of treatments for diseases (mostly leprosy)
Yes there is terrorism ... by today's standards, wouldn't much of the OT be called terrorism?

It amazes me that human kind always uses what could have been good for evil. With all that could be done with scientific research, we choose to use it for bombs, gas and bio warfare
