well but the thing is that she doesnt need a table :p she has a whole balcony in the front where she can place her note pad for church etc in :p stay positive LOL!

Then since it may not be his opinion that he is saying anything wrong, you don't think you have the responsibility to tell him that you only appreciate the things you approve of when being complimented, like the words you used in that first line above?

We have a gal at church who is huge in the chest, and loves to wear low, low, low cut blouses. And you can be almost positive that she will bring up being ogled at least every other week in conversation with other women. My wife, who is not real big in that department, is pretty much disgusted with her constant hypocrisy.

Do you not see the difference in the connotation? Am I in a Twilight Zone or something? I think most people consider "hot" to be a synonym for "sexy" and is not something appropriate in the workplace, or coming from a married man. Really, do you think it is alright for married men to tell other women they are sexy?

The anecdote about the woman at your church has no bearing on the discussion.

We are talking about married men in power saying things to underlings.

I'm here cause my wife won't talk to me....... mostly because she rather flirt with other men online. I would find it odd yet entertaining if she were flirting with other women online.
Why not take her away for a weekend without devices that can access the internet, and really talk to her and ask her to see a counselor with you? Do you love her? If you do, why settle for being roomates when life could be better for you both?

The garden has to be tended in order to grow and not be overrun with weeds.

Men compliment her and tell her she looks fantastic (and she does) all the time. She usually just says "Thank you.", and smiles.
So someone directed a question at you about how you would feel if someone said similar things to your wife.

To paraphrase it more specifically - how would you feel if some man, your wife's boss called your wife "hot chocolate".

Or if you think "chocolate" doesn't fit her description and does not compliment her would you like it if he called her "hot white chocolate"?

Is that appropriate to you?

This thread has gotten fun. When Willie and Demi show up, it's a party.
Demi belongs to the neat age group I feel it is my special privilege to be very tickled to "click with" every few months, or so, even if they do call me "old" most of the time.

I considered getting offended about it, since I prefer the word "mature", but I figured it wasn't worth it because they would just ignore the old man anyway. LOL

If she had chosen a profession where those kinds of interchanges were commonplace (as many of these 'complainers' seem to do) then I doubt I would give it much thought.

So what kind of profession is it that allows exchanges, such as a boss calling a co-worker "hot chocolate?" or "white hot chocolate", if we had to go there. What workplace in your opinion considers it as common place and appropriate?

Do you mean specifically FOX Media News - should women expect to be called such terms on there?

I am curious at your division of appropriate exchanges in corporate America.

Maybe......... but I'm just getting over a stroke, am going blind, will be having one knee fully replaced in two weeks, and the other, probably before the year is out, I imagine. Then, to top it all off, I have a sneaking suspicion I'm entering the early stages of Alzheimer's.

Approaching that new 30 ain't lookin' all that good.

I honestly don't think either my wife nor I have ever had jobs where there wasn't friendly flirting going on almost all the time. I suspect it's not much different in the places these complainers worked. You are either comfortable with yourself and your sexuality.... or you aren't. And I imagine those in the latter group live a fairly uptight and miserable existence. I know I would sure never want to live being so sensitive.

Yeah and a true Pastor, a true leader, would see to it that one of the mature ladies in the church sit that lady down and explain to her she needs to dress conservatively or not come to church at all.

That's ridiculous and does not speak well for church leadership!

What's next? Guys wearing jock straps to church???

Tuesdays are 1/2 priced brats night at the local Haufbrauhus. Can't wait..... even though, because of being in remission for Hep-C, I don't get to drink any beer anymore.

Friendly flirting seems quite vague. As I was being specific, if, in whichever job your wife held, someone called her "white hot chocolate" - would that be friendly flirting?

You deflected the last question by saying that it must be commonplace to have such exchanges in the complainers workplace. How do you know that?

Most people are very comfortable with their sexuality outside the workplace. Your workplace is a place of work and business, not to flaunt your sexuality.
Whether that is a sensitive perspective or miserable experience, is not the scope of what was being brought up.
