There is a simple reason why we can tolerate alcohol while other races cannot because
it was how our ancestors purified their drinks. If you want all the organisms dead in what
you drink, use some alcohol.

There is a good argument though today against alcohol.

I drink occasionally but could easily drink nothing.
I was talking to a sister from brazil about kids and their exposure to drugs.
She said, oh I never did drugs nor any of my family. I really worry about it for my kids.

So I then point out that alcohol is a drug and does much more harm on a social scale than
any other drug. She then said two of her uncles were alcoholics and another struggled.

So actually drugs were a problem in the family, under another name.
People think a glass of wine with each meal, do not harm. Two glasses a day and you
could develop alcoholism and kill your liver. My brother probably does this, though he would
never admit he has a dependency he is probably close.

So I have lots of sympathy with the abstinance idea, if you are around alcoholics, you cannot
even have one drink, it can destroy their lives.

Rockerz, you are missing the boat on quite a few points, in order to "prove" your erroneous belief.

First of all, "new" wine is not non-alcoholic. Read about Pentecost... everyone there accused the believers of being drunk, that they were "filled with new wine". Peter even said, it's too early in the day to be drunk, as you've accused them of being.

Secondly, your scripture about leading "sober" lives is not talking about intoxication, it's talking about not being frivolous and flighty, be serious.... "sober minded".

It's already been pointed out to you about how all the guests at the wedding feast were amazed that they saved the "best" wine for last. It's a well documented fact that at the Jewish feasts, the best is served first, then after the party folks had gotten somewhat tipsy, they brought out the cheaper stuff, because at that point, who cares?

Finally, you need to quit going off on hyperbolic rants about coke and weed.

NOBODY here has said it's ok to be drunk/high/stoned/whatever. You somehow think that taking a statement like "it's ok to drink, just don't get drunk" and immediately taking it to the ridiculous extreme of snorting coke, that you are somehow proving a point. You aren't.

Yeah alcohol is a drug and it's proven fact that it is very bad for the liver and for the brain so it is toxic to the human body.

But hey, these are the ends times where deception runs rampant so many who are tares that claim to be Christians will fight and argue for the right to drink booze and do other drugs bringing reproach upon the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

These folks sowing to the flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption... God is not mocked (Gal 6:7,8)

And it's applicable because those drinking booze are not sober minded... we should be sober in all of our ways.

This is because fresh, new fruit of the vine tastes so much better than rotting fruit of the vine which is how it becomes toxic... it's rotting!

the best is served first
Yes, new wine is the best and it is served first...

Finally, you need to quit going off on hyperbolic rants about coke and weed.
No, I need to ignore you and do what the Lord leads me to so and say and this is a fair comparison... because many today claiming to be Christian are actually doing this... doing drugs thinking they are still good with God and they actually are not.

Well, Rockrz, I just proved you wrong. Will you admit it? Three simple words; repeat after me:

"I was wrong." There, see ? It was not so difficult after all :)

Perhaps you simply need more practice. You are welcome! Any time :)

Ah, the accuser of the brethren rare his ugly head

God's Word teaches getting drunk to be a sin... so Noah would have repented.

You do understand that they did repent back there in the OT, right?

They did not continue in sin and still be right with God just like today we cannot continue in sin and still be right with God.
Show me in the OT Noah repented for being drunk.

There's another meaning to the story and it's not about being drunk.

Noah was quite old and had developed diabetes his own body turned the sugar and the yeast in the body into alcohol. Bizarre right lol.

Sugar occurs naturally in numerous foods and the body turns some foods in to sugar so this is not the same thing as drinking booze which is proven to be damaging to the body's health.

Yes, those that eat lots of candy and stuff like that are not doing right as that is bad for the body and this is something I do not do having recognized sugar is not healthy.

Show me in the OT Noah repented for being drunk.
I'll have to research and see if he did... God said he was a preacher of righteousness and since Genesis 9:20-27 specifically says he got drunk, we know that is a sin before the Lord based on Galatians 5:19-21 (among others)... so Noah would have had to have repented at some point in order to continue being right with God.

In Romans 4:15 God says "the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression" so if God had not yet said getting drunk is a sin before Noah got all sloppy drunk... then it would not have been held against him as being a sin which is NOT the case for us living under the New Covenant where God has said it is in fact a sin.

It says "he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent" so he got so drunk he passed out naked as a jaybird in his tent. He must have been the first redneck!

Then it says "And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him" showing drunkenesss leads to bad things cause he cursed Ham, and some scholars believe Noah was sexually abused (or maybe Noah liked it... it doesn't say fo sho) while passed out to bring about this cursing of Ham or maybe it was Caanan that he cursed... but it was Ham that saw him naked and did something wrong to Noah

Noah was no doubt embarrassed by and aghast at Ham's lack of respect for him. He might have uttered his curse in anger. I think it was not just a matter of personal anger. We can see his utterances as prophetic in roughly the way Jacob's blessing of his sons was also prophetic.

Genesis 9:20-27
And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:
And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.
And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.
And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.
And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

So... using Noah as an excuse to claim getting drunk is OK is totally laughable

Here is the thing there is hypocrisy on both sides. First of all if it is true and the show was cancelled because of politics then thats shame. However I came to realize that both the left and right side can be very biased and hypocritical. If a show that shares the liberals views (pick any show from NBC or ABC) the people would be crying "racism, intolerance, our voices are never heard". When a show that shares the rights point of view they cry "ugh the progressive movement is ruining this country" (not saying it isn't), "our voices are getting heard less and less". Funny how many liberals have not complained about this and when Tim Allen spoke out, many responses were "he's mad that he can't make fun of Obama anymore". I wonder if a show like Blackish were to get cancelled out of the blue, people will rant and rave about it. Everyone is biased and everyone is hypocritical

Didn't they do a skit about killing Trump???

If a show would have done that about obama it would have been shut down and the writers, producers and actors would get life sentences cause this would have been "racist" ya know.

I learned long ago to quit worrying about political correctness and in public if I get wind of someone being overly liberal... I just walk away cause if I get into a conversation with them they'll accuse me of something illegal if I so much as hint at not being in agreement with liberalism.

I think liberalism is satanic... so I don't do well talking politics with satan's people, especially the ones that claim to be Christians while supporting baby killin!

In reality, the name-calling comments started with "boozer"....

While it is accurate, the connotation is not. Boozer generally describes someone that habitually overindulges. So, while the word boozer is technically accurate, in today's world in has a bad connotation.

If only I could :)
