She was removed from her position has president on the Student Counsel then suspended for 2 days. She then was barred from walking at her own graduation as further punishment. The girl believes she has been treated more harshly than other students who have been suspended for less. She then said she wondered whether she should have gotten the abortion since they would have just forgiven her rather than live with the visual consequence. Her appeal was denied. The Pro-Life organization Students For Life has come to her defense for keeping the baby

Things have changed since, but our daughter got pregnant during her senior year. She was not allowed to complete her school year with her classmates. Instead she had to attend adult ed classes and graduate from the adult ed program. She was in public school. Today the same school allows pregnant teens to attend classes and graduate with her classmates. She is also allowed (encouraged) to attend virtual school during the last month before, and for six weeks after the baby is born.

When I was in high school 16 girls didn't go to graduation because they were preggers. They still got their diploma. They just didn't want them flaunting it. I went to a public school. Now schools are the big meaning? Wasn't as if the girl was raped, right? She made her choice and faces the consequences. A good lesson at a young age.

Ah, yeah... the school did the right thing cause it's a Christian school that does not condone doing the wild thang before marriage which I'm assuming is what happened.

Now, if she is married... to a guy.... and is having a baby, then the school did wrong.

She was President of the Student Body. She was smart enough to count the cost up front, but elected not to.

The school is being lenient. She still gets her diploma. Whatever lifelong consequences occur as a result of the pregnancy will have little if anything to do with the school itself.

They'll stem from her decision to get pregnant out of wedlock and make her fight with the school a public issue.

The super Pro-Life activist case for her is that the punitive actions will incentivize hiding and terminating pregnancies. I doubt it. This is really just a slap on the wrist blown out of proportion by a sensationalist media and grandstanding activists.

If anything, I think this case reveals flaws in the Pro-Life activist community. They have a tendency to prioritize the "activist" at the expense of the Pro-Life issue.

This doesn't make them bad or mean they should stop. It just shows how we are all still human and need to check those flaws even when pursuing the greatest good.

Daily Mail.com is known as a far left article website that does nothing, but promote left agenda against Christianity. What you don't hear is the other side of the story on why she was not allowed to attend. That doesn't mean she didn't get her diploma, it meant she was not allowed to flaunt other teenagers that she "had sex" in public to the classmates.

I suggest instead of trying to persuade everyone in this community about your radical left ideas and trying to promote devil doctrines, you should consider two side of the story. I know you're here only to promote your devil doctrine with smile and waving. But that kind of action doesn't fool me. You want to bear fruit, bear it by the holy Spirit buddy. She and the rest of her classmate signed a pledge every year to abstain from such activities as a Christian school. She gave her account as, "My punishment was severe." But it was not, they didn't allow her to showcase her pre-martial sex pregnancy to other students. All of the left media agenda started to hammer down on the school and made a spin out of it like devils. They showcased her as a star for keeping her baby and not abortion when they are the ones who support abortion.

She claims, "I was considering abortion because of my school severe punishment." There was nothing severe about the punishment nor there was anything to promote her to get an abortion. They just didn't want her to walk the aisle with her pregnancy because she wasn't married. The idea behind the statement, "The punishment was so severe I thought about getting abortion," was a spin by left media to attack Christian establishment and try to persuade the public that "This is why we get abortions." They are trying to blame Christians on why THEY CHOOSE to have an abortion. Do you see the game they're playing here? It's a blame and accusation game for what they choose to do, and blame it on the righteous.

Maddi Runkles know very well what she got into and knew exactly what would of happened if she had unprotected sex and got caught. She got caught and decided to give her testimony to all the left media agenda to showcase her "feelings," and try to get some sort of repercussion action against the Christian School as revenge for something she knew she did wrong and signed not to do. No one at the school is suggesting to her abortion, they are wanting her to keep it. They are suggesting that she doesn't walk the aisle on her graduation day because they don't want her to be an example to other teenager girls at the school. It's why they even removed her from her position as counselor. Because what counselor can counsel other teenage girl she herself is the act of that wickedness?

What's ironic about all of this is the left is now calling the baby in Maddi womb a "BABY." They always refer the "BABY" to cell that doesn't exist and now to show case her story, they're trying to spin it to the public as a "BABY." I never seen such wicked devils honestly. They call it a baby to point a finger at Christian establishment for why THEY CHOOSE ABORTION.

And when they get the abortion, the "BABY" isn't a "BABY" anymore, it's non-living cells that don't breathe.

Kinda reminds me of the story behind one of the girls in the group "Edgar" that performed on "America's Got Talent" last year (or the year before). She claims that she was kicked out of either her church or a Christian school because she became pregnant. Whether that is true or not, I don't know. I liked the group's sound, but it sounds to me like too much of a "sob" or "sympathy" story and was used as a bludgeon against us Christians to show how judgmental we are.

I remember them, they got screwed. I think her story was she was shunned by the christian music scene, her albums were taken off the shelves and her music career died because of it. Those type of shows love the sob stories. For example a girl with cancer with a decent voice gets a golden buzzer when there were fare more talented singers who did not get one. I did feel it made Christians look bad. I remember she said she left the church because she was offended by the judgement, but still believes in God.

I think in this case, the type of school does make a difference.

The article says it's a private Christian school.
Her parents and the parents of the others have made a conscious choice
to send their kids to this private fee paying school. Presumably for its
good standard of teaching and morals.

Presumsbly those morals with a Christian bias are part of the curriculum.
But this young person has chosen to go against what she has been taught.

They can't just say there there, never mind it's only another poor kid
born to a broken home. But never mind you just do what you like and we
will overlook it, even if it sets a bad example to other students.

Actions have consequences, she still got her education, she will still
get her diploma etc. Not being allowed to attend her graduation is quite a
minor thing considering, she could have been thrown out of school.

Its only right too that the boy faces consequence, but that will be for his own
school and family to decide.

I don't know this girl, but I know her story. I've lived it with my own daughter. I have a beautiful granddaughter who by no choice of her own, was born during her mother's senior year of high school. Her mother was forced by the school system to attend adult education, where she graduated on time.

My daughter was so afraid to tell me that she was pregnant, that (as I found out later) she cried herself to sleep every night for weeks. When she finally got up enough nerve to tell me, all I could was put my arms around her, hug her tightly, and tell her how much I love her. We prayed and asked God for forgiveness, and for his strength and guidance in the weeks and years to come. There were many more days after she told me, when the shame that she felt was overwhelming. It took me a few days to realize that she was in dire need of our support just to get passed the condemnation of our neighbors, her so called friends, and a few members of our church (the most vocal of which would find themselves in the same position as our family two years later). Through our prayers, and the prayers of many others my daughter not only survived, but thrived.

Just in case you wonder what happened to the father of our granddaughter. During the two years after her birth, he fathered five more children by four other girls. The last time that we saw him, (fifteen years ago) he was hiding from the law. He paid our daughter $500 out of sixty thousand dollars in child support. He visited his daughter fewer than ten times.
I just pray that God will send the right messenger to lead him to Christ.

A lot of Christian schools have a standard of conduct that the students must obey if they want to attend, graduate from the school.

Seems like a rebellious attitude in the student was sourced from the home.

I was always taught not to air ones dirty laundry in public.
