Meh, he didn't sing or use his talents for the Lord... Christians won't miss him at all...
I hope he at least got serious with the Lord before he croaked.

Whadda ya wanna hear???... some feel good lies?

You'll have to tune in to TBN or Daystar for that

he's the poster boy for why non-believers want nothing to do with following Jesus.
It beats being a liar before God, that's for sure!

When someone dies... that's a good time to talk about what happens when one passes and encourage people to live for the Lord so they don't go to hell.

Or, we could always tells them a bunch of seeker sensitive trash... you know, tickle their ear and tell 'em what they wanna hear which is something like "he was a good man, he's in a better place now"

But there's still a chance he might have turned to Jesus before he died. We will find out one day :)

Anton Lavey, the founder of the church of satan was heard screaming for forgiveness on his deathbed as God showed him hell. I know many atheists will deny this ever happened, but I believe it because the woman who was in the room with him became a christian after hearing him, and that was part of her testimony.

Not to mention, Saul (Paul) persecuting believers before he himself was convicted.

Those who are in need of a physician (Mark 2:17)

I mentioned that in my first post...

I guess we'll see later on if his prayers were sincere or not...

I know years ago, I though they were joking when I heard about the satanic bible and found out it's a real thing.

I remember watching a documentary about Karla Faye Tucker. She was described as so evil and showing no remorse for her crimes. But a ministry visited her prison and she got saved.

"Soon after being imprisoned, Tucker took a Bible from the prison ministry program and read it in her cell. She later recalled, "I didn't know what I was reading. Before I knew it, I was in the middle of my cell floor on my knees. I was just asking God to forgive me."

God could've spared her physical life, but He chose not to. The fact she was the first woman to be executed in the US means she is remembered and so is her testimony as a christian also :)

Someone made a movie based on it, called "Forevermore"

no. I am not saying that we should say that " he is in a better place" either say something respectful, or do not say anything at all.

and, by the way " living for the Lord " is not the path to salvation. belief in the Lord Jesus Christ does, which will result in righteous living.

You, brother, have missed the boat. We are not put here to browbeat and condemn non-believers. There is nothing wrong with recognizing sin for what it is, but to use your status as a believer to beat non-believers over the head with your hardback Bible is not following Jesus, or his examples/commands.

[SUP]34 [/SUP]A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. [SUP]35 [/SUP]By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
This love for one another is not limited to believers... how could anybody see hateful behavior toward "outsiders" as being a good thing, and want to be a part of that?

Your whole approach to interaction with non-believers smacks of the children's playground... "I'm better than you, nanny-nanny-boo-boo"

I truly pray that you will have a change of heart... you could be a powerful witness to the unbelievers, if you would learn to love them, and approach them from that direction.

There are many people in this world who live an honest, loving, uplifting, giving lifestyle that puts most who call themselves Christians to shame. The sad thing is that these good people are totally lost. There is nothing that we do that will bring a dead person to Christ, but there is plenty that we can do to bring the living lost to Christ. Leave the dead to God, concentrate on the living.

I'm not... I'm on a Christian talkboard speaking with other Christians, not speaking with unbelievers.

Obviously I do not go out in public and address sinners this way... but some Christians (being worldly, and carnal minded) make a big deal out of famous people as though it's their idol or something and I simply pointed out that this guy did not use his God given talents to lift up the Lord and to glorify God which is true.

Hey, I used to like the Allman Brothers and sang their stuff in night clubs back in the day. I was into many of the southern rock bands... until the Lord taught me that He does not accept worldly music because it's ungodly and not inspired by Him and His people have no business being infatuated with the devil's music. I understand that some Christians disagree thinking it's OK to be worldly...

So, he will not be missed much by true followers of Jesus Christ who are not spending time being friendly with the world and tapping their toe to secular music most of which is in direct opposition to the Lord.

This stuff ain't going to be found in God's Kingdom since the Lord does not appreciate or accept worldly music.

So, no I have not missed the Lord's boat...

This love for one another is not limited to believers...
God's people always come first... our love for one another is how those in the world will know we are the Lord's people.

You should pick a better verse to reflect loving those that are without.

Now, you have never seen me in public locally interacting with unbelievers, so you are not qualified to comment on that other than having wild erroneous imaginations about it which you have expressed.

That is correct, I have not, but I believe if it walks and quacks, it's a duck.

I've seen your interaction with believers on this forum, and if that is ANY indication of how you act "out in the world" then my statements stand.

And there are many verses I could have chosen, like the good Samaritan, the woman caught in adultery, even the thief on the cross. Many, many more....

Again, you can claim all you want that you show love to unbelievers, but your actions here show otherwise.

But, they are your shoes... you get to walk in them.

Again, you're not qualified to make that assessment... and love does not include withholding the truth from people.

The difference we see in how Jesus treated those that had access to God's Word versus those that did not was... He was rude to those that did because they were playing religion and not paying attention to the Word of God.

In this day and age of false teaching and false teachers abounding... someone needs to continually put the focus back on what God said and those that are seeker sensitive will always complain because to them this is being mean and is not walking in love.

I could be like many on here and not care whether people believe things that oppose what God says in His Word and say nothing while agreeing with just whatever they say... would that work better for you?

Please let me know cause it's all about pleasing people, right?

Your clumsy attempt at sarcasm notwithstanding, I AM qualified to make that assessment... as is anyone else on here that has witnessed your ongoing rants and self-righteous commentary about anything with which you disagree.

But, there is no need to beat this horse carcass any longer.... as I said, they are your shoes.

Classy. Real classy.

You are an arrogant, self-righteous sack of hot air. "christians" like you give Christianity a bad name. Your attitude, complete lack of tact, and undeserved smugness are shining examples of why a great many agnostics and atheists make fun of "christians" at every opportunity. Unfortunately, there are a whole lot of people like you in this faith.

So which part turned you into a blubbering crybaby... the part where I said he didn't sing or use his talents for the Lord... Christians won't miss him at all... or, the part where I said I hope he at least got serious with the Lord before he croaked???

You must be one of those false grace, seeker, sensitive, carnal minded, friendly with the world kinda Christian that God has zero respect for!

You worried about what the world thinks when you should put the Lord first and consider what He thinks..,.. that;s the major difference here

Common mistake made by many today... but, hang in there man! Jesus will teach you some stuff if you stick with Him!

Nope... YIG is just one of the ones that "get" the message that Jesus brought us. You know, the one about loving others, and reaching out to them with the gospel of salvation. About our having a Father God who LOVES us, and does not try to browbeat us into submission.

[SUP]5 [/SUP]Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord;
Assuredly, he will not be unpunished.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]By lovingkindness and truth iniquity is atoned for,
And by the [SUP][d][/SUP]fear of the Lord one keeps away from evil.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]When a man’s ways are pleasing to the Lord,
He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Pride goes before destruction,
And a haughty spirit before stumbling.
[SUP]19 [/SUP]It is better to be humble in spirit with the lowly
Than to divide the spoil with the proud.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]He who gives attention to the word will find good,
And blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]The wise in heart will be called understanding,
And sweetness of [SUP][j][/SUP]speech increases [SUP][k][/SUP]persuasiveness.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]Understanding is a fountain of life to one who has it,
But the discipline of fools is folly.
[SUP]15 [/SUP]but [SUP][i][/SUP]sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a [SUP][j][/SUP]defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and [SUP][k][/SUP]reverence;
