there's been some talk on the net about single payer health care where the government just covers everybody. However, I found two noteworthy "skeptical" articles on it. First from hotair at http://hotair.com/…/will-ca-dems-go-full-tilt-single-payer…/ and second from National Review at http://www.nationalreview.com/…/health-care-reform-single-p…
I hope that California does go full in on single payer healthcare. We will finally have a standard that we can measure other healthcare plans against. We won't have to depend on the political rags to decide whether we can do it or not.

Ah yes... ye olde nanny state... the government become your god!

And taxes will go sky high and old people will be deemed not worthy of spending money on cause... they gonna die soon anyhow.

This is just another step towards one world government which younger folks, and some silly older folks, are clamoring for as they all want something for nothing with many not wanting to work anymore since government is they mommy!

California is so deep in debt now they cannot get out... this will probably make them finally go bankrupt.

The US government is not in a financial position to cover anything let alone single payer health care. As for California, that state is, for all intents and purposes, bankrupt.

This silly old man has spent many dollars helping families ravaged by sickness, accidents, and other health issues. I'd gladly spend part or all of that sum to see that everyone has access to health care. Maybe you anti nanny staters can get off your wallet and use it to glorify Christ, and stop laying up your riches here on earth. The next one to go bankrupt may just be you or someone close to you.

How about a financial analysis of the facts that proves the US cannot provide single payer health care?

This is true... but liberals don't care!

They just want to get in to the one world government / religion and follow their boy anti-christ as soon as possible.

Glorifying the Lord is not paying for them to become dependent upon the arm of the flesh and the wisdom of men.

God never gave any instructions to His people to support medical science or the ways of man trying to take care of things apart from the Lord which is what this liberal stuff is, including spending money to murder babies and to smoke pot!

Besides, there's a growing list of stuff medical science cannot do anything about so it's a failing system as it is with everything else mankind is trying to do without the Lord.

Jesus cannot go bankrupt, and I'm IN HIM... so I can't either!

It's always fun discussing liberalism, ain't it!

How about a financial analysis of the facts that proves the US cannot provide single payer health care?
This nation is trillions and trillions in debt... we're broke and cannot afford it.

I'm sure liberals will cook the books and claim it's all good... they always do.

As we have proven in Canada, it is possible to provide quality health care to everyone it the will is there to do it.

As for the "higher" standard that the US private system supposedly provides for those who can afford it, my son-in-law is a doctor, and had an offer to do a fellowship at Harvard. Other than the valet parking, he was extremely unimpressed with both the facilities and the way treatment was offered. He said Calgary has far more modern equipment and procedures. He is taking a fellowship in Toronto, which also has superior facilities than Harvard.

AND, he is talking about treatments that are available for everyone, and for free!

But yes, our taxes do pay for it, and I could not be more glad. I helped others in the years when I did not need to use our medical facilities, and now my taxes and others are helping me. So much better than paying for a bloated military!

Is that why the wait time is so long that some people die waiting to get help... and is that why some Canadians comes to the US because they get better technology here cause the Canadian health system is fixed in terms of spending (little money for development)???

No, it's not free...

Well, since the majority of the world is going to fall for the anti-christ anyway... we may as well spend that money on something else since the US isn't going to use it's military to protect the nation anyway.

They should spend it on getting the Gospel of Jesus Christ out to the masses instead of paying welfare to muzlim immigrants who will eventually destroy the US.

I know I'll be glad to leave Club Earth... people loving darkness is bringing forth more and mo evil with each passing day.

Sources??

For every story you might hear about someone dying because of wait times, I will show you many more in the US who died because they COULD NOT GET HEALTH CARE at all! Or, died because of wait times in the US. It is a myth that people in Canada die because of wait times! Probably spun by the insurance companies and hospitals who make so much money off of people's misfortunes.

As for wait times, not so much. I read the story of some man in Winnipeg who was 87 and in the last stages of terminal cancer and the family was going to take him to the US for treatment. Not! Of course, you could probably buy more cancer treatments, but at what cost? Cancer treatments are incredibly hard on the body, soul and mind. My cousin's wife had breast cancer, and they kept her alive at great cost in the US, for 11 years. Well, she was young, and wanted to meet her grandchildren. Cancer sucks no matter what country it is in.

If an illness is serious, in Canada, it is treated immediately. I had a lump in my arm pit, which could have been cancer. I saw the surgeon the NEXT DAY! In the end, it was a swollen lymph gland, but I would have been in surgery that week, had it proved to be cancer.

As for our Muslim immigrants, do me a favour and take back all those Muslim homosexual immigrants who walked across our border this winter, one man losing all his fingers, getting full medical treatment and now Occupational and Physical Therapy to help him adapt. I guess it was -30 when he walked across.

So glad if Scheer becomes Prime Minister, this border pandering to refugees from America is going to stop. (Oh yes, all on visas or immigrants to the US - scared by Trump, apparently!) Trudeau is a total idiot! He didn't even vet the 40,000 so-called refugees he let in. Many lived in apartments in Syria, had jobs and cars and wanted to go back, when they ended up in hotels waiting to find housing, because the housing market is so tight in many places in Canada. And certainly no jobs for the professionals, because they would have to retrain and qualify for Canadian standards.

Trudeau must go!

Whatever the government gives, it must first take away. Eventually, you start running out of other people’s money.

Somehow I find little comfort in the idea that my Doctor is going to be a civil servant. Just like the ones at the DMV or in the highway department.

Angela, I was wondering what your thoughts are on Stephen Crowder's trip to Canada to get health coverage. Seems like he's showing that health care in Canada is not sooooo good. Just want your input on this. The video is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2jijuj1ysw
