Some things should be left alone. Dr Who as a male is how it should be. It is not right at all, but Liberalism is in full swing and we are now seeing the crop that has grown from the seeds that were sown decades ago.

It is well known that Dr Who has been a bleeding heart liberal since Day One:

Conservapedia acknowledges that Patrick Troughton's Dr Who was a certified hard core lib and that the scripts were largely influenced by Star Trek's Gene Roddenberry who was perhaps Televisionland's # 1 liberal of all time. Note that Star Trek had Vice Admiral Kathryn Janeway as a female captain which is basically the same role played by Dr Who. Perhaps no set of shows in history have been more politically left than both series.

I watched many episodes of the first four Doctors and only a few episodes of the fifth (Peter Davison). Can't honestly say I remember seeing the term "Time Lady" used on the shows. Susan Foreman (Doctor Who's daughter) and Romana (his only companion from his planet) were referred to as Gallifreyans. However, I have seen fans of the shows using the term in online discussions. I would guess the term was used at one time on the show but don't know for sure.

By the way, this is the third time that a Time Lord regenerates as female. The Doctor, the Master, and you might recall the Time Meddler (a monk) who regenerated as a nun.

I've watched Doctor Who since I was little. Not any more.

Changing the gender of a legendary character who has been cemented into this nation's history has no effect on gender equality. It's simply pandering to all of these modern views. As a man I wouldn't be happy if they changed a character who'd always been female to male. It doesn't make sense.

I know they were 'testing the water' when The Master changed to Missy, and I wasn't happy then.

The show wasn't doing that well in my opinion due to lackluster scripts and now the ratings are surely going to be affected. There's way more people mad about this than they were at how annoying of a character Clara was (and she was really terrible!)

I see what youre trying to do but your execution of it is so bad its laughable especially when there do exist examples of what you want, but you choose 0, ZIp, Zilch, nada of them.

bat woman- once more dc comics suck, but this character has existed since 1956...

wonder man totally exists in Marvel were as Wonder Woman is DC so not even related. His name is Simon Williams and he can absorb and redirect Ionic Energy. Has had romantic ties with the Scaarlet Witch and an evil brother known as the grim reaper.

the Incredible Hulk with lip stick. Jennifer Walters is she-hulk, the cousin of Bruce Banner who gained Hulk-like powers from a blood transfusion but fully retains her intellect. She was the leader of A-Force, is a full time lawyer and recentlyhad a near death experience in Civil War where she now has grey skin and is more brutal.

spider woman- jessica drew a woman whose parents were hydra agents and was experimented on as a child gaining bio electric energy blasts she calls stringers. Goes by the name spider woman after inspiration from arachne, has absolutley zero connection spider man outside of both being avengers.

I enjoyed Marvel but preferred DC Comics. While both were fun, it was the old movie serials (Superman, Flash Gordon, Copperhead, etc) that were my absolute faves.

Now that really does go against the laws of nature.

Think techno, nerdy, genius with memory like a sieve and sonic screwdriver, who is
always misplacing things in a telephone box and losing keys.
That simply describes a man, and nothing but a man.

If Doctor Who was meant to be a woman, the TV producers would have replaced
the tardis with a nice new gleaming bathroom suite or modern kitchen, long ago.

    Miri,

    thanks Luv, for the sharing...

as in most cases in this kind of movie of -sorcery/black magic, it begins without any of
    JESUS-TRUTH-FAITH-SALVATION...
it promotes self-survival = l alone with your only companion, FEAR'...oh boy, what a 'sucker-punch'
that they continually try and nail us with...just another real reason to 'grieve'...

He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

I unlike many of you will keep an open mind and just see how the show goes. If it's entertaining then who cares.

At least people have a legitimate gripe with this, I remember how embarrassed I was when Brie Larson was cast as Captain Marvel and everyone complained how "they gave a woman a man's part". That should know who actually actually follows comic books. Carol Danvers=Marvel, Billy Baston=DC

It's cool to see they are willing to mix it up . I have been a huge fan sense 82 . I actually thought that the last Doctor was going to be a woman. I hope this will work for them . If you followed the show it was always a slight chance that the Doctor would be a woman . When Mat Smith became the Dr ,he for a moment thought he was a woman after feeling his hair .
I am disappointed by one thing . Still not ginger.
