Donald Trump's political jamboree - CNNPolitics.com

Donald Trump uses his speech to the Boy Scouts for his own political gain, having boy scout children chant his name, deride his predecessor, and discussing political issues (despite stating almost first thing in the speech that he wouldn't). At one point, during the speech he talks about great politicians roads to "American sex" and uses profanity. Is this what we've come to? Using what should be a celebration of the accomplishments of children to convert said children to one political ideology over another and celebrate the president?

Just when I'm starting to think that maybe Trump is not as bad as everyone says he is, he goes and does something stupid like this

.
Did anyone actually read what he said in his spiel ? - i mean the whole thing in context that is.

Or are u relying on what the media said and how they parsed it out...

I have read only a few excerpts...mostly in the nature of '..not giving up and working hard...etc..'
Seems just like old fashioned values to me....

Also, it seems he was actually enthusiastically received by the audience - an audience that Obama never addressed in his 8 years..

While I've only viewed this story in a most cursory way I trust the audience's reaction more than the medias

I read it. Yes. He did talk about perseverance. You know what he also did? He used it as an excuse to whine about "fake news" and a lack of loyalty, complain about people not getting Obamacare repealed, criticize his predecessor, brag about his election, and brag about his accomplishments. A good portion of it was spent bragging because that's what Donald Trump does! He takes something that's supposed to be about children and can't resist complimenting himself and deriding every person or opinion he dislikes.

How is the following statement appropriate? If you have any doubt what he's talking about, look at his face when he's saying it. It's about 17:50 of the video below.
"And he went out and bought a big yacht, and he had a very interesting life. I won't go any more than that, because you're Boy Scouts so I'm not going to tell you what he did. Should I tell you? Should I tell you? You're Boy Scouts, but you know life. You know life."

The only thing that surprises me is that he was able to stop himself from actually telling a bunch of children about what he did. After all, this is the man who once suggested his favorite thing in common with his daughter...his daughter!.... is sex.

You're throwing the baby out with the bath water. It was overall a great speech about the finer qualities of the Boyscouts and the crowd was legitimately receptive. Asides on his life were minimal, but they are expected during most speaking engagements.

I mean you clearly didn't listen to the speech or care much for context, because he wasn't even referencing himself in the sex aside as you allege.

I didn't vote for the guy in the primary, but it's hard to get all moral outragey when I think about what we could have. Egads.

I never alleged that Donald Trump was talking about himself. He was referring to Levittown; the he in the quotes is Donald Trump's exact words, clearly implying a different person. But it doesn't matter who he's talking about because the number of times it's correct to make lewd references to children is zero.
You mean you're thankful we ended up with someone who thinks sexual assault is entertaining, that is on his third wife, thinks being friends with a nation with a terrible human rights record is a great idea, thinks bullying is acceptable, lies so often it seems the norm for him, and...well, I don't have the time to finish tonight.

have we grown so course that we have chosen, or even 'want to believe', that so many
of our 'young children' were and are right now, being 'molested' by just another organization
that employs perverts, at their own discretion, ($$$) - peds and trans, and etc.???
'on-line TRASHING that will keep God's Family apart???

where do you 'draw your line'???, how much does your 'tag/flag' mean to you, do you even 'care'
about the 'End Times'???

If you are still relying on CNN -- of all media -- to report fairly and objectively on Trump, you have simply not been paying attention to what has become of the mainstream media. They are simply propagandists for the Democrats and the Left-Liberals, so no one should waste time listening to the rubbish from CNN. They hate Trump and they have also promoted the idea of assassinating him. So how low can you get?

Pah. Then you should have had more care with your wording, because it's hard to not think you cherry picked.

Why yes. I'm actually no great fan of his, but I also happen to live in a reality where it was between him and Hillary Clinton after he made it past convention.
